A nozzle for injecting liquid includes a nozzle body defining a flow channel and a swirl ante-chamber in fluid communication with the flow channel. An injection point orifice is defined in the swirl ante-chamber. The flow channel feeds into the swirl ante-chamber to impart a tangential flow component on fluids entering the swirl ante-chamber to generate swirl on a spray issuing from the injection point orifice. A second flow channel can be included in fluid communication with the swirl ante-chamber. The second flow channel feeds into the swirl ante-chamber in cooperation with or in opposition to the first flow channel. The first flow channel, second flow channel, and swirl ante-chamber are configured and adapted to adjust spray angle of a spray issuing from the injection point orifice by varying flow apportionment among the first and second flow channels.

INJECTOR NOZZLE SPRAY HOLE WITH VENTURI AND AIR ENTERTAINMENT FEATURE

Apparatuses and methods for fuel injection are disclosed. The apparatus includes an inner sac with one or more primary passages extending therefrom. The one or more primary passages inject fuel therethrough and comprising a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion, where the second portion is disposed between the first portion and the third portion and has a cross-sectional area smaller than that of both the first portion and the third portion. The apparatus also includes one or more secondary passages extending from an outer surface of the apparatus to fluidly couple with the second portion of the one or more primary passages. The one or more secondary passages inject air to form fuel-and-air mixture with the fuel injected from the one or more primary passages

A metering system for a fuel atomizer includes a housing having a fuel inlet and an oxidizer inlet arranged coaxially, and an oxidizer metering device having a plurality of oxidizer channels, an oxidizer flow controller, and a fuel metering device. The oxidizer channels are spaced apart circumferentially in the housing and are arranged angled in at least one of a radially inward direction and a tangential direction to create a swirl of oxidizer flow in a mixing chamber of the fuel atomizer. The oxidizer flow controller is configured to control flow of oxidizer from the oxidizer inlet to the plurality of oxidizer channels. The fuel metering device is configured to control fuel flow from the fuel inlet to the mixing chamber.

FLUID ATOMIZER WITH HELICAL INLET CHANNEL

A fluid atomizer with helical inlet channel which is used to atomize the fluid and convert the same into a spray of droplets, contains fluid inlet which are two independent chambers through which the flow passes and swirl chamber, transforms the fluid into spray dispersion by atomizing the same after the fluid is collected in the center after centrally coming fluid is dispersed by forming a swirl.

Liquid injection nozzle

This liquid injection nozzle atomizes and sprays liquid, while reducing loss of kinetic energy, thereby promoting mixing between the liquid and a gas and thus promoting the reaction between the liquid and the gas. In the liquid injection nozzle, a plurality of distal end tips each having an injection hole are provided on a distal end portion of a nozzle body. Each distal end tip has a conical swirling flow chamber. A communication thin hole is formed in the distal end portion. The communication thin hole extends from a hollow chamber to the conical swirling flow chamber of the distal end tip. When the valve needle is lifted, liquid flows through the communication thin hole into the swirling flow chamber in a tangential direction and generates a vortex flow, and the vortex flow is sprayed from the injection hole.

FLUID ATOMIZER

A fluid atomizer is provided, and the fluid atomizer is used to atomize the fluid into a spray of droplets, and transform the fluid into spray dispersion in the form of intertwined inner conical film and outer conical film layer by atomizing the fluid. The fluid atomizer includes a plurality of inlet channels, at least one swirl chamber, at least one contracting channel, at least one flow passage channel, at least one internal outlet channel, at least one external outlet channel, and at least one channel holder.

Bluff body fuel mixer

A combustor is provided. The combustor may include an axial fuel injection system, and a radial fuel injection system aft of the axial fuel injection system. The axial fuel injection system includes a mixer having a bluff body at an exit port of the mixer, and a fuel injector disposed within the mixer. A fuel and air mixer is also provided and comprises an outer housing with an exit port and a bluff body. The bluff body extends across the exit port of the outer housing. A fuel injection system is also provided. The systems comprise a mixer having a bluff body at an exit port of the mixer and a fuel injector disposed within the mixer.

Mist forming method using fluid injection valve, fluid injection valve, and mist forming apparatus

A mist forming method using a fluid injection valve formed of a valve seat, a valve body, and a nozzle portion or an injection hole plate having injection holes, and configured to turn in-hole flows and flows immediately below the injection holes into substantially liquid film flows. Directions of jets from the injection holes are not necessarily brought into coincidence with a center axis direction of the injection holes and are not necessarily crossed with one another in a downstream part, and after the jets turned into mists at a position downstream of a break length position, the mists are allowed to come close or gather by the Coanda effect so as to appear substantially as one solid mist, and allowed to keep gathering until catching of ambient air and a resulting air flow along a downstream flow direction in a predetermined in-mist portion attenuate.
