There are provided a laminated piezoelectric element in which a stress applied to an interface between a cover layer and a stacked body is reduced, and an injection device and a fuel injection system provided with the laminated piezoelectric element. A laminated piezoelectric element includes a stacked body in which piezoelectric layers and internal electrode layers are alternately laminated; and a cover layer disposed so as to surround a side face of the stacked body, and the cover layer has a two-layer structure with an annular boundary when viewed in a section perpendicular to a stacking direction of the stacked body.

A valve assembly for a fluid injection valve has a longitudinal axis and includes a valve seat and a valve disc. The valve seat has an orifice that is laterally offset from the longitudinal axis. The valve disc has a fluid passage which, in a first angular position of the valve disc, is positioned in such fashion that it overlaps the orifice at an interface of the valve disc and the valve seat to establish a fluid path through the valve disc and the valve seat for dispensing fluid from the valve assembly. The valve disc is rotatable around the longitudinal axis with respect to the valve seat from the first angular position to a second angular position, wherein the valve seat and the valve disc mechanically interact to seal the orifice in the second angular position.

An internal combustion engine comprises a fuel injection valve which has a needle, wherein a valve opening speed of the needle during post injection is raised as compared with a valve opening speed of the needle during main injection if a pressure of the fuel is not more than a first predetermined pressure, while the valve opening speed of the needle during the post injection is lowered as compared with the valve opening speed of the needle during the main injection if the pressure of the fuel is not less than a second predetermined pressure that is a pressure larger than the first predetermined pressure, when a requested post injection fuel amount is larger than an injection amount threshold value.
Method for determining the fuel temperature
A method is provided for determining the fuel temperature in the high-pressure zone of a fuel injection system of a motor vehicle. The fuel injection system has at least one injector operated by a servo valve which is actuated by means of a piezo actuator. After an injection process has been carried out, the piezo actuator is discharged after the injection has ended in such a way that the servo valve can close, but a non-positive connection remains between the piezo actuator and the servo valve. This condition of reduced charge is maintained. The pressure oscillation of the actuator voltage resulting from this is recorded and from this the hydraulic natural frequency of the enclosed high-pressure volume of fuel is deduced. The prevailing fuel temperature can be determined from the natural frequency.
Valve for metering in a flowing medium
A valve for metering a flowing medium, in particular a fluid, having a metering opening situated in the fluid flow and surrounded by a valve seat, a valve needle that controls the metering opening and that has a closing head that works together with the valve seat to close and release the metering opening, a piezoelectric actuator that acts on the valve needle to release the metering opening, and an elastic resetting element that acts on the valve needle to close the metering opening. To minimize the required stroke of the piezoelectric actuator for a required stroke of the closing head of the valve needle, the point of action of the resetting element on the valve needle is situated on or close to the end of the valve needle that bears the closing head.

A capacitive load charging/discharging device, including a first capacitor, a down-up converter including a first and a second switching element connected across the first capacitor, wherein a connecting point of the switching elements is connected to a first output terminal of the converter through a main coil. The device further includes an output circuit with a capacitive load arranged between first and second output circuit terminals, which are connected to output terminals of the converter. A discharge circuit is formed with the output circuit, the main coil and the second switching element, including an additional capacitor which is connected to a charging circuit for charging to a specified voltage, wherein the polarity of the voltage corresponds to that of the load voltage in the charged state of the capacitive load.
Three-way three-position control valve having a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator, and fuel-injection system comprising the aforesaid valve
An electrically actuated control valve has three mouths and three operating positions, in which the three mouths includes a first mouth for inlet of a working fluid, and a second mouth and a third mouth for outlet of the working fluid. The three operating positions include a first operating position in which a passage of fluid from the first mouth to the second mouth and the third mouth is enabled, a second operating position in which a passage of fluid from the first mouth to only one of said second and third mouths is enabled, and a third operating position in which the passage of fluid from the first to the second mouth and the third mouth is disabled. The control valve includes an electric or electromagnetic actuator for controlling the passage of fluid from the first mouth to the second and third mouths providing the aforesaid three operating positions.

A throttle device for controlling a fuel quantity to be supplied to a fuel injection nozzle includes a control chamber and a supply device for supplying fuel to the control chamber. The supply device includes an inlet throttle having a length selected such that a fuel flowing through the inlet throttle, when in operation, flows through the inlet throttle in a turbulent flow. An injection device including the throttle device is also provided.

A valve device for switching or metering a fluid includes a housing, a flow channel defined by the housing, and a valve body arranged in the flow channel. The valve body has a sealing section which contacts a housing-side sealing seat when the valve device is closed. The sealing section at least slightly protrudes beyond a surface of the valve body facing the sealing seat.
Piezo Common Rail Injector With Hydraulic Clearance Compensation Integrated Into The Servo Valve
The present disclosure relates to internal combustion engines. The teachings thereof may be embodied in injection valves with servo-valve control for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber. For example, an injection valve may include a valve pin connected to a valve body and an actuator preloaded by an actuator spring. The valve pin is fitted with a very small clearance to form a sealing gap between the valve pin and the valve body which includes bores. The lower end of the valve pin forms a coupling volume between the valve pin and the valve body, connected via the sealing gap and the bores to the valve chamber. The sealing gap provides a fluidic connection between the coupling volume and the valve chamber, but, during the short time of valve actuation, practically no exchange of fluid can take place between coupling volume and valve chamber so that the coupling volume does not substantially change in said short time.
