The method further includes electrically coupling the first electrical system to the second electrical system, electrically loading the auxiliary battery and the primary battery, and comparing an electrical parameter of the auxiliary battery to a threshold value to assess a state of the auxiliary battery.

An assembly for an engine includes a control module including a controller operable to control at least certain aspects of the operation of the engine, a display including an input connected to the controller, and a wireless receiver connected to the controller. The wireless receiver is arranged to receive a signal from a wireless device to cause the controller to send an engine start signal to cause starting of the engine and wherein the input when actuated causes the controller to send an engine start signal to cause starting of the engine. In at least some implementations, no keyed ignition switch is provided to start the engine and the engine is started only via the wireless device or the input.

The first condition is that a parked regeneration requirement notification component performs a notification of a parked regeneration requirement when a number of cancellations of the automatic regeneration process reaches a predetermined value. The second condition is that the parked regeneration start operation component is subjected to a start operation during a parked state in which an engine equipped machine is neither traveling nor working.

The relay can be electrically connected between an ignition switch and an electrical power source for starting the engine. A method of reducing idling of an engine can include connecting an idle reduction system, thereby permitting the system to shut down the engine in response to one or more predetermined conditions, the idle reduction system starting the engine in response to at least one of : a) battery voltage being less than a predetermined level, and b) engine temperature being less than a predetermined level, and the idle reduction system controlling operation of at least one of: an auxiliary air conditioner and an auxiliary heater.

A method for remotely starting a manual transmission vehicle is provided. The method includes determining whether remote start of the manual transmission vehicle is possible based on a remote start command signal of a remote start input device, an inclination angle signal value of the manual transmission vehicle, a notch signal value generated when a parking brake of the manual transmission vehicle is operated by moving a lever of the parking brake, and a gear shift stage signal of a manual transmission of the manual transmission vehicle. An engine of the manual transmission is started when the notch signal value according to the inclination angle signal value is greater than or equal to a minimum value of notch signal values capable of remotely starting the manual transmission vehicle and the gear shift stage signal is a neutral stage signal.
