One or more motor stators are provided outside of the pumping chamber. A rotatable impeller is within the pumping chamber and is adapted to cause blood entering the pumping chamber to move to the blood outlet. The impeller has one or more magnetic regions. The impeller is radially constrained in rotation by magnetic coupling to one or more motor stators and is axially constrained in rotation by one or more hydrodynamic thrust bearing surfaces on the impeller.
Magnetic coupling assemblies and pump, turbine, and compressor including the magnetic coupling assembly
A magnetic coupling assembly includes a rotatable male coupling member, a rotatable female coupling member, a static separation member, a first channel, a second channel, a third channel, and a magnetic coupling section of the static separation member, wherein the magnetic coupling section is a section of the static separation member. The rotatable female coupling member and the rotatable male coupling member are rotatably coupled by magnets through the magnetic coupling section. The first channel, the second channel, and the third channel contain fluid forced to flow through the first, second, and third channels for cooling and rotodynamic stabilization.
GAS BEARING COMPRESSOR BACKUP POWER
A compressor for a heat transfer circuit includes a variable frequency drive (VFD), an electric motor that rotates a driveshaft, bearing(s) for supporting the driveshaft, a backup gas supply, and a power supply. During a utility power interruption, the backup gas supply operates utilizing DC electrical power generated by a back electromotive force of the electric motor. A method of operating an electric power supply system for a compressor includes operating in a utility power mode and operating in a backup power mode during a utility power interruption. In the utility power mode, AC electrical power is supplied from the VFD to the motor. In the backup power mode, DC electrical power generated in the VFD by a back electromotive force of the motor it used to operate a backup gas supply to supply compressed working fluid to gas bearing(s) of the compressor.
BEARINGS FOR ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS
Anti-rotation bearing assemblies for electric submersible pumps are provided. An electric submersible pump includes a plurality of centrifugal pump stages, each stage including a rotating impeller and a stationary diffuser mounted on a shaft coupled to a motor. In use, the motor rotates the shaft, which rotates the impeller within the stationary diffuser. A bearing assembly can include a bearing sleeve disposed about the shaft and a bushing disposed radially between the bearing sleeve and the diffuser. The bearing sleeve rotates with the shaft in operation, and the bushing remains stationary with the diffuser. The bushing can have an external key that is received in a key way or groove in the diffuser to act as an anti-rotation feature. In other variations, the bushing can have an eccentric or oblique profile, which can act as an anti-rotation feature.
Oil field pump
An oil field pump is installed within a pipe that connects to an oil field, and feeds accumulated extraction oil in a predetermined direction. The oil field pump includes a rotor with an impeller, a stator installed on the outer circumferential of the rotor and that forms a flow path for passing the extraction oil between the stator and the rotor and that includes a diffuser on the downstream side of the impeller, a static pressure bearing device installed between the rotor and the stator and that supports the load in the radial direction, and a supply flow path that supplies, to the static pressure bearing device, a portion of the extraction oil flowing along the inner side in the radial direction of the path.

Turbocharger bearing assembly and method for providing the same
An integrated bearing assembly includes a thrust bearing disposed along a face of a turbocharger casing in a turbocharger and extending circumferentially around an axis of rotation of a rotor of the turbocharger, and a dual film journal bearing radially disposed between the rotor and the turbocharger casing which can be semi-floating or fully floating. The journal bearing includes a shoulder step radially extending away from the rotor. The shoulder step of the journal bearing engages one or more of the thrust bearing or the turbocharger casing to prevent axial movement of the dual film journal bearing relative to the turbocharger casing.
PLAIN BEARING, AND METHOD FOR LUBRICATING AND COOLING A PLAIN BEARING
A plain bearing of a planetary gearbox has first and second rotationally connected components. Oil adjacent an oil feed pocket of the first component is directed into the bearing clearance between the components by a first line that opens into the pocket. The line includes a first portion and a downstream second portion. The flow cross section of the first portion is smaller than the flow cross section of the second portion. The flow cross section for the oil, in the feed direction, in the circumferential direction of the clearance and in the main rotation direction of the second component relative to the first component increases more than counter to the main rotation direction of the second component, or in the circumferential direction of the clearance and counter to the main rotation direction of the second component increases more than in the main rotation direction of the second component.
Motor assembly and method for manufacturing the same
A motor assembly includes a rolling bearing installed on a rotation shaft between an impeller and a rotor to support a first support of the rotation shaft, and a motor housing having a stator. The motor housing has a gas bearing bracket for accommodating a second support of the rotation shaft disposed at a side opposite to the first support with respect to the rotor. The motor assembly includes a gas bearing assembly in the gas bearing bracket to support rotation of the second support of the rotation shaft. The gas bearing assembly includes a gas bearing for surrounding the second support. The gas bearing is spaced apart from the second support of the rotation shaft to define a gap therebetween when the rotation shaft rotates. The gas bearing assembly includes an elastic member interposed between the gas bearing bracket and the gas bearing to elastically support the gas bearing.
