Containment or separation seal
A seal includes a mating ring that rotates relative to a carbon primary ring at a seal interface. A buffer gas is provided into the seal and passes from the back of the primary ring to the seal interface. The seal can be used as a separation seal or in combination with another seal.
CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
A centrifugal compressor, including: a housing; a motor assembly disposed in the housing and a motor cavity and a motor shaft located in the motor cavity, the motor shaft having a first end and a second end extending from the motor cavity; a first impeller assembly located at the first end of the motor shaft and provided with a first labyrinth sealing mechanism; a second impeller assembly located at the second end of the motor shaft and provided with a second labyrinth sealing mechanism; a first gas bearing assembly provided between the motor cavity and the first impeller assembly; and a second gas bearing assembly provided between the motor cavity and the second impeller assembly; wherein the first labyrinth sealing mechanism is kept in gas communication with the first gas bearing assembly, and the second labyrinth sealing mechanism is kept in gas communication with the second gas bearing assembly.
SHAFT SEALING ARRANGEMENT
A shaft sealing arrangement includes a first seal and a second seal, wherein the first seal is designed in the form of a lip seal and the second seal is designed in the form of a mechanical seal. When the shaft is at a standstill, the lip seal performs the sealing action and, when the shaft is rotating, the mechanical seal performs the sealing action.
END SURFACE-CONTACT MECHANICAL SEAL
An end surface-contact mechanical seal that is configured so as to seal by means of a relative rotational sliding contact action of sealing end surfaces (5a, 6a) which are opposing end surfaces of a fixed sealing ring (6), which is fixed to a rotating shaft (4), and a movable sealing ring (5), which is held by a seal case (3) so as to be movable in an axial direction, the mechanical seal being provided with a flushing means (8) for discharging a flushing liquid (F) from a flushing passage (81) formed in the seal case (3) toward the relative rotational sliding contact portions (5a, 6a) of the sealing rings (5, 6), wherein coating layers (9a, 10a) and (9b, 10b), which are composed of a material having a higher heat conduction coefficient and hardness than the constituent material of the sealing rings (5, 6), are formed continuously on portions of the surfaces of the sealing rings (5, 6) where the flushing liquid (F) makes contact with and on the sealing end surfaces (5a, 6a), and the relative rotational sliding contact portions (5a, 6a) of the sealing rings (5, 6) are configured to be uniformly and sufficiently cooled by the flushing liquid (F) for their entire periphery.
ROTARY MACHINE SYSTEM
A rotary machine system includes: a rotary machine including a gas seal portion; a gas seal device connected to the rotary machine and that supplies a seal gas to the gas seal portion; a pressure sensor that detects a pressure of the seal gas; a vent portion that discharges the seal gas discharged from the gas seal portion; and a vent pressure sensor that detects a pressure in the vent portion. The rotary machine includes: a casing through which a working fluid flows; a rotatable rotary shaft that passes; and the gas seal portion provided between the casing and the rotary shaft and that seals the working fluid by the seal gas having a pressure higher than a pressure of the working fluid in the casing. The gas seal device includes: a pressure regulating valve; and a control part that controls the pressure regulating valve.
SEALING SYSTEM
A sealing system includes: a double mechanical seal having a pump-side sealing mechanism (10, 12) and an atmospheric-side sealing mechanism (11, 13); a pump mechanism (19) driven by a rotational shaft (1); a first medium circulation line (30) for circulating a fluid barrier-and-cooling medium between a first chamber (22a) and a second chamber (22b), the first medium circulation line (30) being coupled to the first chamber (22a) and the second chamber (22b), the fluid barrier-and-cooling medium being different from a fluid handled by the centrifugal pump; a heat exchanger (21) and a shut-off valve (28) attached to the first medium circulation line (30); a second medium circulation line (31) bypassing the shut-off valve (28); and a medium pressurizing pump (45) and an on-off valve (23) attached to the second medium circulation line (31).
