The present disclosure relates to a portable air purifier and the fan module provided therin. In the disclosed invention, the portable air purifier includes a fan module that is disposed between a discharge surface and a filter, and suctions air having passed through the filter, in an axial direction, and discharges the air in a direction between the axial direction and a radial direction.

The bracket includes a first portion located outward of the vent in a radial direction, and a second portion located outward of the first portion and outward of an outer circumference of the motor unit case in the radial direction. A first airflow passage and a second airflow passage are formed in the bracket, the first and second airflow passages communicate with an airflow passage formed by the centrifugal impeller and the fan cover.

Airflow from a blower fan can be adjusted between a cooling air mode where cooling air flows freely to the ambient surroundings and a noise mode where the airflow is partially or fully restricted in order to produce different levels of soothing background noise. The airflow from the fan can be split or divided between varying degrees and combinations of unrestricted airflow, partially restricted airflow and fully restricted airflow to produce a wide range of cooling airflows into the ambient with or without the production of additional background noise. A perforated drum surrounds the fan to form a chamber within which airflow can resonate at various frequencies and amplify noise levels selected by rotating the drum around the fan.

The second bracket includes a second member and a third member spaced from the second member. A second channel is formed between the second member and the third member. A second flange extends from the second member on an opposite side of the second member from the third member. The second flange includes a second engagement surface. In an installed configuration, the first bracket is secured to the second bracket; the first engagement surface faces the second engagement surface; and the plurality of fingers are inserted into the second channel.

The described embodiments relate to improving efficiency of a low-profile cooling fan. In one embodiment, an impeller of the cooling fan includes a shroud which covers a central portion of the impeller, thereby allowing a central inlet portion of the blades to have an increased fan blade height when compared to a cooling fan constrained by minimum part tolerances between the fan blades and a portion of the fan housing. In some embodiments, the impeller includes splitter blades that can improve performance of the low-profile cooling fan.

The motor includes a spindle, a rotor assembly, a stator assembly, a motor housing, a front-end cover, a rear-end cover and a capacitor. The rotor assembly is disposed on the spindle. The stator assembly and the motor housing are integrated and sleeved on the rotor assembly. The front-end cover and the rear-end cover are installed on the two ends of the motor housing, respectively. Two ends of the spindle are supported on the bearing of the front-end cover and the bearing of the rear-end cover, respectively. The front end of the spindle extends into the volute and is connected to the blower wheel. The capacitor is disposed in a cavity formed by the box and the rear-end cover.
