A centrifugal pump assembly includes an electrical drive motor (4, 6), an impeller (14) which is driven by the drive motor and a pump casing (12) surrounds the impeller and including two branches (27, 32, 34). A movable valve element (18) is arranged in the pump casing and is movable between two switching positions, in which the flow paths through the two branches (27, 32, 34) are opened to a different extent. The valve element (18) is configured and arranged in the pump casing (12) such that it separates a suction chamber (24) which is connected to a suction side of the impeller (14) from a delivery chamber (26) which is in connection with the delivery side of the impeller (14). The valve element (18) is mechanically and/or hydraulically coupled to the drive motor (4, 6) for at least a movement between the two switching positions.

A pump chamber (32a), valve chambers (33a and 33b), discharge holes (33e and 33f), and flow paths (34 and 35) are integrally provided to each other in a housing (30), so that the pressure loss of the cleaning liquid “W” can be reduced. In addition, since valve chambers of the flow paths extend to the discharge holes, the cleaning liquid flowing out of the flow paths can be discharged at a portion closer to the central of the valve chambers. As a result, the outlet portions of the flow paths and the inlet portions of the discharge holes is brought closer to each other, and the turbulent of the cleaning liquid in the valve chambers can be suppressed, thereby reducing the pressure loss.

A valve assembly is operable into a first position to fluidically connect the fluid inlet through the first pump stage to the first fluid outlet. The valve assembly is further operable into a second position to fluidically connect the first pump stage to the second fluid outlet and the flow feed chamber and the flow feed chamber fluidically connected to the at least one fluid outlet through the second pump stage.

In addition, since the valve chambers (33a and 33b) of the flow paths (34 and 35) extend to the discharge holes (33e and 33f), the cleaning liquid “W” flowing out of the flow paths (34 and 35) can be discharged at a portion closer to the central of the valve chambers (33a and 33b). A centrifugal pump assembly includes an electrical drive motor (2), with at least one impeller (18) which is driven by the motor and a pump casing (6) which surrounds the impeller (18) and which includes at least one suction connection (20) and at least two delivery connections (22, 24). A rotatable valve element (30, 30′, 30″) is arranged in the pump casing (6). The valve element is movable between at least two switching positions, in which the flow paths through the delivery connections (22, 24) are opened to a different extent. The valve element (30, 30′, 30″) includes an annular wall (32) which surrounds the impeller (18) and in which at least one switching opening (48) is formed. The valve element (30, 30′, 30″) is rotatably mounted about a rotation axis (X), which is centric to the annular wall (32), inside of the pump casing (6).
