Provided is a leading-edge protector for a wind turbine rotor blade, including a curved body shaped for attachment to the rotor blade along at least a section of its leading edge; a plurality of fins, each fin extending radially outward from the curved body and terminating in a blunt outer face; and a plurality of reinforcement bands, wherein a reinforcement band is attached to the blunt outer face of a fin. Also provided is a method of manufacturing such a leading-edge protector.

A control and evaluation unit controls the light sources such that the scattered light is detected in a wavelength selective manner by the detectors.
Hydraulic turbine
A runner for a hydraulic turbine configured to reduce fish mortality. The runner includes a hub and a plurality of blades extending from the hub. Each blade includes a root connected to the hub and a tip opposite the root. Each blade further includes a leading edge opposite a trailing edge, and a ratio of a thickness of the leading edge to a diameter of the runner can range from about 0.06 to about 0.35. Further, each blade has a leading edge that is curved relative to a radial axis of the runner.

LEADING EDGE PROTECTION FOR A WIND TURBINE BLADE
Disclosed is a leading edge protection element for a wind turbine blade, the leading edge protection element extending in a longitudinal direction between a first edge and a second edge and extending in a transverse direction between a third edge and a fourth edge, the leading edge protection element having a first surface and a second surface. The leading edge protection element comprising a film layer having a first film surface and a second film surface, the first film surface forming the first surface of the leading edge protection element, wherein the film layer comprises a metal material. The leading edge protection element comprising a rubber layer of a rubber material having a first rubber surface and a second rubber surface, the second rubber surface forming the second surface of the leading edge protection element, wherein the second film surface and the first rubber surface are bonded to each other.
WIND BLADE HAVING A LIGHTNING PROTECTION SYSTEM
A lightning protection subsystem for a wind blade is presented. The lightning protection subsystem includes one or more conductive segments, where each of the one or more conductive segments include a conductor and a coupling portion, where the coupling portion is configured to secure the one or more conductive segments to an edge of the wind blade. Further, the one or more conductive segments form an elongated lightning conducting path along at least a portion of the length of the edge, at an outer surface of the wind blade.

A wind turbine blade includes a leading edge protection element attached to the leading edge of the wind turbine blade. The leading edge protection element extends in a longitudinal direction between an outboard end and an inboard end and includes an attachment surface mounted to an exterior surface of the blade, an exterior surface opposite the attachment surface, a first section extending from the leading edge and along a part of the pressure side of the wind turbine blade to a first transverse end at a first position on the pressure side of the blade, and a second section extending from the leading edge and along a part of the suction side of the wind turbine blade to a second transverse end at a second position on the suction side of the blade.
