Reducing bearing load in a regenerative turbine pump

A regenerative turbine impeller includes a first side and a second side. An impeller housing surrounds the regenerative turbine impeller. The impeller housing includes a seal separating the first side and the second side of the regenerative turbine impeller. A first fluid inlet is fluidically coupled to the first side of the regenerative turbine impeller. A first fluid outlet is fluidically coupled to the first side of the regenerative turbine impeller. A second fluid inlet is fluidically coupled to the second side of the regenerative turbine impeller. A second fluid outlet is fluidically coupled to the second side of the regenerative turbine impeller.

Regenerative turbine pumps

Turbine pumps can include: an inlet port; a first discharge port; a body defining a flow path extending from the inlet port through a raceway to the discharge port; and a turbine impeller disposed in the raceway. In some pumps, the body further defines an channel providing a fluid connection between a raceway outlet and the discharge port. In some pumps, an outlet angle defined by the inlet port, an axis of the turbine, and the discharge port is between 30 and 180 degrees.

Turbomachine

A turbomachine includes a housing and an electric motor in the housing. The electric motor has a shaft, a stator, and a rotor on the shaft. At least one impeller is arranged in a pump housing and driven by the shaft, the impeller having at least one ring of rotor blades delimiting a ring of blade chambers. A side channel is arranged in the pump housing opposite the ring of blade chambers and extends from the pump inlet as far as the pump outlet. A ramp is arranged at an end of the side channel in a radially inner half of the side channel. The ramp starts from a channel bottom, rises in a flow direction as far as the height of the pump housing wall, and merges with its radially outer half into the pump outlet.

Fuel pump

A fuel pump, including a driven impeller, which rotates in a pump housing and on the two sides comprises guide blades that each delimit a ring of blade chambers, and further including partial ring-shaped channels, which are arranged on both sides in the region of the guide blades in the pump housing and which form delivery chambers with the blade chambers for delivering fuel, wherein an inlet channel leads into the one delivery chamber and the other delivery chamber leads into an outlet channel, and mutually opposing blade chambers are connected to each other. The cross-sectional surface of the partial ring-shaped channel arranged on the inlet side decreases toward the end of the partial ring-shaped channel to zero. The region in which the cross-sectional surface decreases extends over an angular region of more than 45.
