DAMPER SYSTEM FOR AN ENGINE SHAFT

An engine assembly defining an axial direction (A) and including a gearbox, an engine core including at least one rotor, and a flexible coupling shaft having a first end and a second end along the axial direction (A). The first end of the flexible coupling shaft is connected to the engine core and the second end of the flexible coupling shaft is connected to the gearbox. A damper system is positioned at the second end of the flexible coupling shaft. The damper system is configured to reduce vibrations to the flexible coupling shaft during operation of the engine assembly.

The present disclosure is directed to a turbine engine (10) defining an axial direction and a radial direction. The turbine engine includes a fan or propeller assembly (14) comprising a gearbox; an engine core (20) comprising one or more rotors, wherein at least one of the rotors defines an axially extended annular hub; and a flexible coupling shaft (100) defining a first end and a second end along the axial direction, wherein the first end is connected to the engine core and the second end is connected to the gearbox, and further wherein the flexible coupling shaft extends from the one or more rotors to the gearbox in the axial direction and inward of the hub in the radial direction.

Aircraft turbomachine with reduction gear

An aircraft turbomachine with a reduction gear has a first shaft and a second shaft having one same axis of rotation, the second shaft being rotationally driven by the first shaft via the reduction gear, the first shaft having elastically deformable means having bellows section(s) and being connected to the reduction gear by a connecting system likewise having elastically deformable means involving a hairpin or bellows section(s).

FLEXIBLE FRUSTOCONICAL INPUT SHAFT

The present invention relates to a shaft for a propulsion system configured to rotate a reducing mechanism about a rotational axis, the shaft comprising: —a first end configured to engage with an input gear of the reducing mechanism, —a first bellows and a second bellows, the first bellows and the second bellows being rotationally symmetrical about the rotational axis, the first bellows extending between the first end and the second bellows, and —a frustoconical body mechanically connecting the first bellows and the second bellows.

A gas turbine engine has a fan rotor including at least one stage, with the at least one stage delivering a portion of air into a low pressure duct, and another portion of air into a compressor. The compressor is driven by a turbine rotor, and the fan rotor is driven by a fan drive turbine. A channel selectively communicates air from the low pressure duct across a boost compressor.

DRIVE SHAFT COMPRISING A FUSIBLE SECTION AND METHOD FOR PROTECTING SUCH A DRIVE SHAFT AGAINST AN OVERTORQUE

A drive shaft of an aircraft turbine engine includes a first portion and a second portion, and connecting means connecting the first and second portions and being configured to transmit a torque from the second portion to the first portion. The connecting means has at least one bellows with a first section having a diameter greater than the diameters of the first and second portions and second sections flanking the first section. The first section includes at least one fusible section with at least one through-hole and being configured to break when the value of a torque applied to the first portion exceeds a predetermined threshold value.

Geared turbofan with non-epicyclic gear reduction system

A gas turbine engine comprises a fan drive turbine driving a shaft. The shaft engages a gear reduction. The gear reduction drives a fan rotor at a speed that is less than the speed of the fan drive turbine. The gear reduction is a non-epicyclic gear reduction.

High speed shaft flexible coupling

A gas turbine engine in which a long length-to-diameter (L/D) flexible shaft is used to connect two high speed shafts in order to tolerate misalignment. In order to reduce the overall system length, a smaller diameter flexible shaft is contained within but not in contact with a larger diameter primary turbomachinery shaft such that the smaller flexible shaft adjoins to the primary shaft aft of the primary shaft bearing. This design reduces a length of the overall system and reduces additional cost associated with a flex bellows or spline.
