Step seal for refrigerant compressors
In some aspects, the techniques described herein relate to a refrigerant compressor, including: a stator; a rotor configured to rotate with respect to the stator; and at least one step seal between the rotor and the stator, wherein the step seal includes a first tooth and a second tooth extending from the rotor toward the stator, wherein a downstream surface of the first tooth and an upstream surface of the second tooth are arranged at an angle relative to one another, wherein the angle is less than 90°.
Channeling furrow upstream of a blade
The invention relates to an assembly for a turbomachine (1) extending about an axis (X) comprising: —an inner annular platform (13) and an outer annular platform (14) delimiting a flow channel (3) for a flow flowing from upstream to downstream, and —at least one fixed blade (12) extending radially between the inner annular platform (13) and the outer annular platform (14), said fixed blade (12) being profiled with a leading edge (15), characterized in that the inner annular platform (13) and/or the outer annular platform (14) comprises, upstream of the leading edge (15) of the fixed blade (12), a furrow (21) for channeling the fluid flowing in the channel (3), having a segment forming an upstream limit (22) and a segment forming a downstream limit (23), the length of the upstream limit (22) being greater than the length of the downstream limit (23).
Ceiling fan blade
A ceiling fan or similar air-moving device can include a motor for rotating one or more blades to drive a volume of air about a space. The blade can include a body having an outer surface with a flat top surface and a flat bottom surface, and a side edge. The top surface includes a chamfered portion extending between a flat portion, and the side edge.
FLOATING, NON-CONTACT SEAL WITH ROUNDED EDGE
Aspects of the disclosure are directed to a seal comprising: a support ring, at least one beam coupled to the support ring, and a shoe coupled to the at least one beam, the shoe having an axial shoe face that includes a rounded edge that is configured to contact a support structure face of a support structure when the seal is subjected to a load that is equal to or greater than a first threshold.
Ceiling fan blade
A ceiling fan or similar air-moving device can include a motor for rotating one or more blades to drive a volume of air about a space. The blade can include a body having an outer surface with a flat top surface and a flat bottom surface, and a side edge. A curved transition can extend between one of the flat top surface or the flat bottom surface, and the side edge. The curved transition can include an elliptical curvature.

TURBINE ROTOR BLADE
A rotor blade in an embodiment includes: a suction surface side projecting portion projecting from a suction surface on a leading edge side at a blade tip of the blade effective portion; and a pressure surface side projecting portion projecting from a pressure surface on a trailing edge side at the blade tip of the blade effective portion. The suction surface side projecting portion includes: a leading edge side end surface including a contact surface that comes into contact with the pressure surface side projecting portion of the adjacent rotor blade and a non-contact surface that does not come into contact with the pressure surface side projecting portion of the adjacent rotor blade during rotation; a groove portion formed from the non-contact surface to the trailing edge side; and a joining member joined to the groove portion, the joining member being formed of an erosion-resistance material.
Gas turbine engine airfoil fairing with rib having radial notch
An airfoil fairing includes an airfoil section that is formed of a fiber-reinforced composite wall. The airfoil section has first and second radial ends, pressure and suction sides, leading and trailing ends that join the pressure and suction sides, an internal cavity, and a rib that extends radially in the internal cavity. The rib has a radial rib end at the first radial end of the airfoil section and extends across the internal cavity from a first rib side at the pressure side to a second rib side at the suction side. The rib defines at the radial end first and second shoulders. The first and second shoulders define a radial notch there between.
