A method of manufacturing a hydraulic valve component using additive manufacturing includes laying successive layers to form a flow aperture for a hydraulic valve component, and creating a lattice or mesh structure that at least partially defines the flow aperture of the hydraulic valve component, or a feature that forms an undercut along a direction that is parallel to a flow direction of the flow aperture, or a flow aperture having a size varying along a circumferential direction of the valve component.

A hydraulic turbo machine has a runner that is impinged by water. A diffuser has a multiplicity of guide blades. The diffuser includes a regulating ring for rotating the guide blades. The housings of the stages are fixedly connected to one another and the pistons of the stages interact only in a part range of the entire adjusting range of the servomotor.

An actuation pressure to actuate one or more hydraulic actuators may be determined based on a load on the one or more hydraulic actuators of a robotic device. Based on the determined actuation pressure, a pressure rail from among a set of pressure rails at respective pressures may be selected. One or more valves may connect the selected pressure rail to a metering valve. The hydraulic drive system may operate in a discrete mode in which the metering valve opens such that hydraulic fluid flows from the selected pressure rail through the metering valve to the one or more hydraulic actuators at approximately the supply pressure. Responsive to a control state of the robotic device, the hydraulic drive system may operate in a continuous mode in which the metering valve throttles the hydraulic fluid such that the supply pressure is reduced to the determined actuation pressure.

A rotary actuator has a rotatable platform rotatably supported on a base. The rotatable platform has a friction surface. An actuator band is operated by a band clamp so as to be selectively frictionally engageable with the friction surface. A motion actuator is coupled between the base and the actuator band such that change in length of the motion actuator causes corresponding movement of the actuator band. A brake band is operated by a brake band actuator so as to be selectively frictionally engageable with the friction surface, the brake band anchored to the base.

Each clamping mechanism is arranged to engage and disengage the piston body of the cylinder to the piston rod member. The fluid actuator arrangement comprises further a control element arranged to control a back and forward movement of the respective piston body so that forward movement is slower than the backward movement and to control the movement of the respective piston bodies in relation to each other such that at least one piston body is always moving forward and such that an overlap exists wherein at least two of the piston bodies are moving forward simultaneously during a cycle.
