Blind assembly fastener system
Disclosed are Systems and methods for coupling a first panel to a second panel using a fastening system. The fastening system includes a fastener, a doghouse structure, and a seal assembly. The fastener includes a head assembly coupled to a collar using the doghouse structure. The head assembly engages the doghouse structure positioned on the first panel and the collar passes through an opening in the second panel to retain the second panel relative to the first panel. The seal assembly includes a seal and a seal carrier that is coupled to the fastener via a frangible connection.
Blind assembly fastener system
Disclosed are systems and methods for coupling a first panel to a second panel via a fastening system. The fastening system comprises fastener and a doghouse structure. The fastener includes a head assembly coupled to a collar. The collar is configured to pass through and to retain the second panel via an opening formed in the second panel. The doghouse structure defines a chamber that is configured to receive and secure the head assembly. The doghouse structure is positioned on the first panel and is configured to pass at least partially through the opening.
FASTENER SYSTEM
A fastener is provided. The fastener includes a housing with a housing opening and a collet body at least partially enclosed within the housing, the collet body includes a crown having a crown opening with a threaded section and a leg that extends from the crown and including a foot. The fastener further includes a screw with a head positioned in the housing opening, an upper threaded section, and a lower unthreaded section, where the housing opening and the crown include a set of splined protrusions and a set of splined recesses mated with one another, where the sets of splined protrusions and recesses include ramps and are designed to permit the collet body and the screw to transition into a free-spin configuration, and where a spring is designed to exert a return force on the collet body or the screw when the fastener is in the free-spin configuration.

AMORPHOUS METAL RIVET SYSTEMS
A family of rivets including both blind and bucked-type rivets made at least partially from an amorphous metal alloy. A blind rivet includes a head portion and a tail portion. At least one of the head portion and the tail portion is configured to elastically deform to secure a first member in position relative to a second member. The head portion and the tail portion may include one or more deformable legs having an interface feature configured to engage with one of the first member and the second member. A bucked-type rivet assembly includes a formable member and an anvil. The anvil is configured to thermoplastically deform the formable member proximate to the second member by passing current through an electrical circuit that includes at least one of the formable member and anvil.
Chimeric Fasteners
The present invention provides a fastener that serves as a replacement for joining a pair of metal sheets or similar materials. The fastener can be used to replace an original fastener that has worm a large hole into the sheets of material. The fastener provides a widened shaft to accommodate the widened hole while retaining a small head size comparable to that of the original fastener. In this way, the fastener of the present invention can be used in the widened hole while retaining the appearance of the original fastener.
Straight shank end screw for foreign-object-debris (FOD) reduction
A fastener which includes a first portion of a shaft which defines threads, and a second portion of the shaft, which extends from the first portion of the shaft, includes a planar curved surface. A method for securing a fastener to an e-nut, which includes the step of inserting the fastener positioned within an e-nut into an opening defined by and which extends through at least two components to be secured together, wherein: a first portion of the shaft of the fastener defines threads; and a second portion of the shaft of the fastener, which extends from the first portion of the shaft, defines a curved planar surface.
BLIND FASTENERS AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INSTALLING BLIND FASTENERS
A blind fastener includes a sleeve defining a sleeve central axis and having a sleeve shank having a distal end portion and a proximal end portion axially opposed from the distal end portion and a stop connected to the distal end portion of the sleeve shank. The sleeve defines an eccentric through-bore that extends along a through-bore axis from the proximal end portion to the distal end portion. The blind fastener includes a core bolt at least partially received in the eccentric through-bore of the sleeve, defining a core bolt central axis. A core bolt shank has a distal end portion, a proximal end portion axially opposed from the distal end portion, and a threaded portion. A core bolt head is connected to the proximal end portion of the core bolt shank. An eccentric nut is threaded into engagement with the threaded portion of the core bolt shank.
SPARK CONTAINMENT CAP
A method of joining a first workpiece to a second workpiece is disclosed including securing a spark containment cap to the first workpiece, the cap comprising an electrically insulating washer and a cap body defining an air cavity. Once the cap has been secured, a tail of a fastener is inserted into the air cavity through the second workpiece, the first workpiece and the washer. Upon tightening the fastener, the tail of the fastener urges the washer against the first workpiece and the first and second workpiece are thereby clamped between the washer and a head of the fastener so as to form a joint. Advantageously, it has been found that forming a joint in this manner can help to better protect the joint from the effects of electrical arcing.
