A rivet sleeve of a blind rivet for connecting at least one die-head-side component to a closing-head-side component, the rivet sleeve having a sleeve shank including a sleeve shank end. An elastic sleeve die head is arranged at an end of the sleeve shank opposite the sleeve shank end for ensuring a minimum clamping force between at least the die-head-side component and the closing-head-side component in a closed state of the blind rivet, the sleeve die head. The sleeve die head extend around the sleeve shank radially around the extension axis of the sleeve shank. At least two recesses spaced a distance apart in the lateral surface of the sleeve die head.
Rivets
A rivet for fastening workpiece members, the rivet including a body comprising a shank extending in a first, longitudinal direction and a head extending in a second, substantially transversal direction, a bore being defined through the shank and the head of the body; and, a stem comprising a main longitudinal portion arranged for insertion into said bore, and an enlarged portion arranged for radially expanding the shank when the enlarged portion is forced into said bore to fasten the workpiece members; the rivet being configured for insertion into respective apertures formed in the workpiece members; and the rivet being further configured such that when the workpiece members are fastened, the head of the body of the rivet is displaced relative to the shank to engage with the stem to lock the stem in place relative to the body and/or the workpiece members.
BLIND FASTENER
A method includes inserting a machining tool through a hole of at least one workpiece that includes a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface and extends from the first surface to the second surface. The hole forms an inner wall. The machining tool includes a shaft and a cutting tip proximate to one end of the shaft. The cutting tip includes a cutting portion. The method includes positioning the cutting portion of the cutting tip to abut an edge of the hole. The edge is located at a junction of the second surface of the one of the at least one workpiece and the inner wall. The method includes forming a surface modification at the edge with the cutting tip. The method includes removing the machining tool from the hole. The method includes installing a fastener within the hole. The fastener engages the surface modification.
Single groove single-sided fastener and installation method thereof
A single groove single-sided fastener comprises: a rivet consisting of a rivet head, a polish rod, a locking groove, a tail pulling groove and a tail tooth in sequence, and a lantern ring consisting of a sleeve and a dead head; a tail of the rivet is of a single groove short-tail structure, a ratio of a length of the tail pulling groove to a total length of the tail tooth is 0.1˜1.5, an included angle between a bottom generatrix of the tail pulling groove and an axis of the rivet is −30°˜0°, two axial ends of the bottom of the tail pulling groove and the tail of the tail tooth are of a fillet transition structure, a ratio of a length of a straight part of the tail tooth to the total length of the tail tooth is 0.1˜1.
Bonding washer
A bonding washer for making electrical connection between two metal pieces that are to be mechanically fastened together. The washer, to be interposed between the two metal pieces, may be constructed so as to fasten to one of the pieces before the two pieces are joined. Teeth on the washer, positioned at right angles to the plane of the washer, are forced into each of the two metal pieces when the fastener is tightened, making electrical connection between the two metal pieces.
Board-to-board fixture having rivet rod and rivet sleeve
A board-to-board fixture includes rivet sleeve having hollow tube with perforation inside, stop flange formed on the bottom side of hollow tube, operating space formed in the stop flange to communicate with perforation and expansion portion formed on the top side of hollow tube, and rivet rod having head, tapered impact portion formed on the bottom side of head, deformation portion downwardly protruded from the bottom side of impact portion for pressing against the top side of preset rivet gun socket at the operating space to generate deformation, increasing bump extending downward from the outer edge of the bottom side of deformation portion, breaking portion with a smaller round diameter formed on the center of the bottom side of deformation portion and shank downwardly extending from the bottom side of breaking portion to penetrate the perforation and the operating space through the expansion portion of rivet sleeve.
GALVANIC CORROSION RESISTANT FASTENER
A fastening assembly includes: a panel defining an aperture; a fastener having a cap and a shaft extending from the cap, the shaft being disposed through the aperture, the fastener having a first corrosion rate, and the fastener including: a recess formed in the cap and extending at least partially around the shaft; face surfaces that are planar and that are to directly contact the panel; and recessed channels that are disposed between the face surfaces, respectively, that are recessed relative to the face surfaces, and that extend from a radially outer edge of the cap to the recess; and an anode insert disposed in the recess and having a second corrosion rate that is faster than the first corrosion rate.
Blind fastener
Disclosed is a fastener that includes a nut with a threaded bore that includes a head on one end having three recesses, a cylindrical outer surface and a tapered ramp on the other end, a bolt that includes a head, a threaded portion engaged with the threaded bore, a recess next to the bolt head and an enlarged shank between the threads and the recess, where the outer diameter of the recess is smaller than a major diameter of the threaded bore of the nut and where an outer diameter of the shank is larger than a major diameter of the bolt threads, and a sleeve with a unthreaded bore positioned between the tapered ramp and the bolt head with one end crimped into the recess such that the internal diameter of the crimped sleeve bore is smaller than the major diameter of the threads on the bolt.
Wire rivet
A rivet assembly for securing a wire in electrical communication with a substrate having a hollow cylindrical body with a first opening at a proximal end and a second opening at a distal end. The rivet assembly further includes a wire with a portion in electrical communication with the cylindrical body. The rivet assembly yet further includes a compression mechanism configured for use selectively compressing the cylindrical body along an axial direction. Compression of the cylindrical body can cause diametric expansion of an outer diameter of the cylindrical body to retain the cylindrical body within a substrate. The rivet assembly additionally includes wire retention structure configured for holding the wire in electrical contact with the compressed cylindrical body.
