Multi-clinch fastener insert
An insert for the attachment of objects to composite or plastic panels consists of two parts, a retainer and an insert. The retainer has a through-hole and knurls on its perimeter for gripping the walls of a receiving hole in the composite or plastic panel. The insert has multiple self-clinching features at increasing diameters which when inserted into the retainer rigidly attach it to the retainer. The panel is rigidly clamped between opposite sides of the panel by an enlarged head of the retainer and an opposing flange on the insert. The self-clinching features of different diameter permit the device to be used with panels of different thickness and allow a large tolerance range. A plain or threaded stud can be substituted for the threaded hole of the insert. Both the retainer and the insert can be metallic.
CAPTIVE BOLT AND RETAINER
A fastener system includes a bolt and a retainer. The bolt has a first end and an opposing second end, wherein a recess having a predetermined shape is defined in the first end of the bolt. The retainer includes a first end having a predetermined shape configured to be inserted within the recess in the first end of the bolt and a second end configured to couple about the second end of the bolt. A method of fastening parts together with the fastener system includes inserting the first end of the retainer into the recess of the bolt, deflecting and/or rotating the retainer in a direction to bring the second end of the retainer into proximity with the second end of the bolt, and securing a nut to the bolt.
CLINCH FASTENER
A clinch fastener includes a shaft defining a central axis and a head having an outer periphery cooperating with the shaft. A plurality of ribs disposed under the head to engage a workpiece. The plurality of ribs extending radially outward in a direction from a displacement collar positioned proximate the central axis of the clinch fastener to the outer periphery of the head. Each of the plurality of ribs includes multiple sections forming at least a sidewall and a parametric profile for each rib. The clinch fastener includes a retaining ring cooperating with the shaft and a retaining groove cooperating with the shaft positioned between the displacement collar and retaining ring. The plurality of ribs and displacement collar are configured to radially displace workplace material into the retaining groove and diffuse stress within the workpiece material when the fastener is secured to the workpiece.
DISPLAY APPARATUS
A display apparatus fixed to a wall mount includes a display, a mounting member assembled to a rear cover of the display to fix the display to the wall mount, a set screw coupled to the mounting member and including a rotation preventer provided to limit a length thereof fastened to the mounting member, and a cap nut fastened to the set screw to fix the display apparatus to the wall mount, and having a length thereof, which is fastened to the set screw, being adjusted according to a thickness of the rear cover.
Expandable collet bodies with sectional finger-based anti-rotation feature, clips, inserts and systems thereof
Expandable collet bodies with sectional finger-based anti-rotation features are disclosed. The collet body comprises not only a plurality of gripping finger as a first part of a two-part anti-rotation means (ARM), but also a first part of a two part translation arresting means (TAM), which may or may not be sectional in nature. The TAM prevents over translation of a collet body within the work piece(s), and cooperates with a second part of the TAM associated with a work piece or an auxiliary structure. In this manner, a collet body inserted into a work piece or auxiliary structure will not accidentally be pushed beyond the blind side of the work piece(s) during insertion or initial clamp-up.
Improvements In, Or Relating To, Fasteners
Disclosed is a rack fastener to engage and retain a first member and hold a second member to the first member. The fastener has two coextensive studs, each having base portions, to install from a back surface of the first member each into separate apertures thereof, such that the studs extend through the separate apertures from a front surface of the first member. A connecting portion connects the two base portions. There is also, a clipping portion extending, directly or indirectly, from one of the base portions, the clipping portion having at least one engagement face to engage a region of another aperture of the first member so that the fastener is substantially prevented from being separated from the first member. The two studs can pass through respective apertures of the second member, and thereafter fasteners can engage each stud to secure the second member to the first member.
FIXING DEVICE
The present invention relates to, in a first aspect, a fixing device comprising an anchor element that is positioned along an axis, the anchor element extending substantially perpendicular thereto, a rotating element arranged perpendicular to and rotatable about the axis, and spaced therealong from the anchor element, and a deployment mechanism, comprising a first deployment portion on the anchor element and a second deployment portion on the rotating element, wherein one of the first and second deployment portions comprise a sloping surface extending at least partway around the axis, and the other is shaped to be able to roll, slide or otherwise move along the sloping surface, the anchor element and rotating element are able to move towards one another along the axis, and the deployment mechanism is adapted to convert movement of the anchor element and rotating element towards one another into helical movement in a first-handed direction along and about the axis. Also provided are a fixing device for fixing an article to a structure, a system comprising a fixing or fastening device, and a method of using a fixing device.
System for securing a pivoting bolt to a vehicle frame, vehicle frame for connecting a pivoting bolt and method for mounting a pivoting bolt to a vehicle frame
A system for securing a pivoting bolt to a vehicle frame, on which, in a mounted state, a link element, is mounted pivotably, including a sleeve element for receiving the pivoting bolt, wherein a collar region is provided or formed on the sleeve element, wherein the collar region is configured in such a manner that, in a mounted state, the collar region interacts in a form-fitting manner with a vehicle-frame-side engagement region, including a protrusion or an indentation, in order to avoid twisting of the sleeve element.
THREADED FASTENING SYSTEM
A fastener system incorporated in a structural member, the system including a dual threaded member and an anti-rotational member. The dual threaded member is inserted through a hole in the structural member. The dual threaded member has an engaging feature. The anti-rotational member is coupled to the dual threaded member, and the anti-rotational member is coupled with the engaging feature of the dual threaded member and with the structural member to thereby limit rotation of the dual threaded member relative to the structural member.
Fastener assembly
A fastener assembly having a nut with interior threads extending from a first end to an intermediate end wall, a narrowed diameter aperture extending from the end wall toward a second end. A first screw has a shaft exhibiting a first exterior thread pattern rotationally inter-engaging with the interior threads of the nut when installed through the first end. A recess formed in an end of the shaft exhibiting a further plurality of interior threads matching a direction of the first thread pattern. A second screw has a second exterior thread pattern opposite the first pattern and, upon being installed through the narrowed aperture, rotationally inter-engaging the interior threads of the first screw, with loosening of either screw being prevented by their counter-threaded orientation. A head of the second screw exhibiting an outer annular rim establishing a resistance fit within an entranceway location of the nut.
