Reinforced cap head screws
A self-tapping screw for use in securing at least two materials together. The self-tapping screw may include a screw cap that receives a screw body to reinforce the strength of the screw head. The screw cap is composed of a zinc-aluminum alloy that may be die casted and provides additional strength and hardness to the attached screw body. The screw cap has a rolled flange that helps to securely retain the flat rim of the attached screw body.

Bolt and fastened structure
A bolt of the present invention has a composition comprising: 0.50 mass % or greater and 0.65 mass % or less of carbon (C), 1.5 mass % or greater and 2.5 mass % or less of silicon (Si), 1.0 mass % or greater and 2.0 mass % or less of chromium (Cr), 0.2 mass % or greater and 1.0 mass % or less of manganese (Mn), 1.5 mass % or greater and 5.0 mass % or less of molybdenum (Mo), wherein a total amount of phosphorous (P) and sulfur (S) as impurities is 0.03 mass % or less, the remaining is iron (Fe), and the bolt comprises an iron based oxide film with a film thickness of 3 μm or greater and 20 μm or less on the surface thereof. The bolt has excellent delayed fracture resistance and reliably provides a fastening axial force.
Fastener using lubricated interference fit
The invention relates to a method for installing metallic fastener (10; 40) for the interference fit assembly of at least two structural elements (20, 22) comprising a through hole, the fastener comprising an enlarged head (12; 42), a shaft (14; 44) having an external diameter before installation that is greater than an internal diameter of the hole, said shaft comprising a conductive surface (26; 56). Before installation, at least the conductive surface (26; 56) is coated with a lubricating layer (30), which comprises a mixture of at least one polyolefin and one polytetrafluoroethylene, for example, having sufficient adherence to prevent its abrasion by manual manipulation of the fastener and being weak enough to be at least partly stripped from the conductive surface during the interference fit assembly of the fastener. The invention is applicable to the assembly of aircraft structures.

Articles having thermoset coatings and coating methods
A method to prevent corrosion of a susceptible article of a two-article system, in which first and second articles of the two-article system have surfaces facing one another and in which the two articles have different anodic indices includes applying a coating material to the surface of the first article and curing the coating material on the surface of the first article. The method further includes contacting and securing the surface of the first article with the surface of the second article. The two articles exhibit substantially no corrosion following exposure to a corrosive environment under standard GMW17026 for a 15 year simulated test.

FASTENING MEMBER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Provided is a fastening member having a base material including an aluminum alloy and an anticorrosive film with which the base material is coated. This anticorrosive film contains aluminum hydroxide oxide (AlO(OH)), and in a profile obtained from X-ray diffractometry with a Cu-Kα radiation on the fastening member, a peak intensity ratio R (I.sub.B(020)/I.sub.Al(200)) is 0.003 or more and 0.1 or less, wherein I.sub.B(020) is an intensity of a diffraction peak of a (020) plane of aluminum hydroxide oxide, and I.sub.Al(200) is an intensity of a diffraction peak of a (200) plane of aluminum as a main peak. The anticorrosive film formed by the present invention is uniformly formed on the fastening member and excellent in stability and adhesion.
MOUNTING MEMBER WITH IC TAG
Provided is a mounting member with an IC tag, the mounting member being easily manufactured and configured so as to not have constraints in terms of attachment orientation. The mounting member with an IC tag is provided with: a shaft-shaped section 1 having a shaft-shaped insert part 11 and a base part 12 which is formed by one end section of the insert part 11 protruding in the width direction; an IC tag 2 fixed to a surface 123 of the base part 12; and a resin head part 3 which is molded to at least the surface 123 side of the base part 12 so as to seal the IC tag 2. Male threads are preferably formed on the insert part 11.
TUBE FITTING AND TUBE EQUIPPED WITH TUBE FITTING
A tube fitting includes: a zinc-based plated layer; and a resin coating layer that is positioned at an outermost surface at an outer side of the zinc-based plated layer and includes a polyethylene substance, a lubricant, and solid particles. When a fitting average plating thickness t relating to the thickness of the zinc-based plated layer is defined, 2.1<t<19.7 is true.
