BOLT RETENTION DEVICE
A bolt retention device is provided that includes a bolt having a shaft, a retention portion that includes a radial retention surface extending along the shaft, a sleeve having a cylindrical base with an inner bore, and at least one rib extending radially from the cylindrical base, wherein the retention portion has a diameter sized to receive the inner bore of the sleeve, and wherein the bolt is inserted into the sleeve to align the retention portion with the inner bore of the sleeve. The sleeve works to retain the bolt in a coupling aperture by applying a resistive force in the direction opposite the direction of motion. This resistive force is caused by physical interference created by the ribs against the inner bore of the coupling aperture. The ribs may vary in shape to create different desirable resistive characteristics.
Fastener systems and methods
A system includes a washer, a nut, a retainer structure, and a gasket. The washer has a bore extending between a distal end and a proximal end. A first section of the bore extends from the distal end to a shoulder portion. A second section of the bore extends from the shoulder portion to the proximal end. The shoulder portion defines an aperture. The nut is configured to be received in the first section of the bore. The nut includes a threaded bore configured to threadably engage a threaded shaft of a bolt. The retainer structure is configured to axially retain the nut in the first section of the bore of the washer. The gasket has a through-bore axially aligned with the bore of the washer and the threaded bore of the nut. The gasket is configured to be axially retained in the second section of bore of the washer.
Compression Limiter
Described is a compression-limiting fastener assembly for attaching a first component having a first opening relative to a second component having a second opening. The compression-limiting fastener assembly includes a male fastener, a retainer clip, and a female fastener. The male fastener includes a head and a shank. The retainer clip includes a recessed pocket with a fastener hole formed therein. The retainer clip includes a body portion having a pair of generally parallel legs that are resiliently connected to define a channel. The recessed pocket maintains a first distance (D.sub.1) between the pair of generally parallel legs. The retainer clip engages the first component via the first opening and the channel. The female fastener includes a bore to receive the shank is via the fastener hole and the second opening.
Part of a turbomachine comprising a washer cooperating with a counterbore
The invention concerns a part of a turbomachine, including an element having a first aerodynamic surface including a counterbore at the bottom of which is provided a mounting hole of a fastening screw of the part, and a washer configured to be accommodate into the counterbore and intended to serve as a support for a head of the fastening screw, wherein the washer has an asymmetry of revolution about a screwing axis and is engaged by shape complementarity in the counterbore, and in that the washer includes a second aerodynamic surface extending in the continuity of the first surface.
FASTENER WITH FREELY ROTATING COVER
A fastener comprises a cover, a head, a threaded shaft, and a snap ring, the fastener being adapted to secure a valuable item to a support. The snap ring is received within a cover groove and a head groove, so that a portion of the snap ring is received in both of the cover groove and the head groove, and the cover is locked in place over the head, the cover being free to rotate relative to the head.
Fastening target member and fastening structure
There is provided a fastening target member attached to an attachment member by a fastening member that includes a head and a shaft. The fastening target member has a surface, at least one insertion hole that allows the shaft of the fastening member to be inserted therethrough, and a fastening member removal structure that is formed in the surface of the fastening target member where the head of the fastening member is disposed and that has a pair of grooves. The pair of grooves face each other with the at least one insertion hole interposed therebetween. The pair of grooves are each formed from an inner circumferential side relative to the outer diameter of the head of the fastening member to an outer circumferential side relative to the outer diameter of the head of the fastening member.
Bearing device for wheel
A bearing device for a wheel has a wheel bearing including inner and outer rings, a hub wheel, and balls between outer raceway surfaces of the outer ring and inner raceway surfaces of the hub wheel and the inner ring. A stem section is fitted into an inner diameter of the hub wheel to couple a constant velocity universal joint to the wheel bearing through a screw fastening structure so that a shoulder portion of an outer joint member abuts against a crimped portion of the hub wheel. Projecting portions formed on the stem section are press-fitted into the hub wheel having depressed portions formed to interfere with the projecting portions, and a shape of the projecting portions is transferred to the hub wheel providing a projection and depression fitting structure in which the projecting and depressed portions are in close contact at an entire fitting contact portion therebetween.
Non-rotatable fastener assembly and associated methods
A cap and washer fastener assembly includes a cap with an upper surface and a lower surface with a post extending from the lower surface. The assembly also includes a washer with an upper surface, a lower surface, and a hole. The assembly includes an assembled configuration wherein the post of the cap is inserted into the hole of the washer and a portion of the post is permanently deformed within the cavity. In the assembled configuration, a substrate layer is disposed between the cap and the washer. The cap and washer are configured so they are prevented from rotating relative to one another and relative to the substrate when in the assembled configuration.
