Compliant journal bearing shaft assembly

A carrier assembly has a pair of axially spaced-apart plates defining an axial gap therebetween. The plates have a plurality of planetary bores on a plurality of planetary axes. A plurality of planetary gear mount assemblies are disposed on the planetary axes and mounted within the planetary bores of the gear carrier. Each assembly comprises a journal bearing shaft having a pair of compliance grooves extending axially from opposed axial ends of the shaft. An inner cylindrical surface of each compliance groove defines a shaft mounting surface. A pair of collars is provided to assemble each journal bearing shaft to the carrier. Each collar has a mounting socket mating the shaft mounting surface and an external collar surface matching the planetary bore diameter.

A cleaning apparatus has a hollow input shaft connectable to a hydraulic pressure source, is received in a first housing part and has a fluid conduit, with at least one lateral or axial input and at least one lateral output. At least one hollow output shaft is fluidically coupled to the hollow input shaft, received in a second housing part, and has a fluid channel, with at least one lateral input and at least one lateral or axial output. The hollow input shaft and/or the hollow output shaft is/are mounted rotatably about the longitudinal axis thereof relative to the relevant housing part. A first chamber is at least between the input or output of the hollow input shaft or the input of the at least one hollow output shaft and an interior lateral surface of a sealing sleeve. The sealing sleeve is fixed in a stationary and non-rotatable manner on the relevant housing part and arranged surrounding a portion of the hollow input or output shaft. Regions of the interior lateral surface of the sealing sleeve extending axially from the first chamber form a gap seal with the exterior lateral surface of the hollow input or output shaft.

DAMPER SYSTEM FOR AN ENGINE SHAFT

An engine assembly defining an axial direction (A) and including a gearbox, an engine core including at least one rotor, and a flexible coupling shaft having a first end and a second end along the axial direction (A). The first end of the flexible coupling shaft is connected to the engine core and the second end of the flexible coupling shaft is connected to the gearbox. A damper system is positioned at the second end of the flexible coupling shaft. The damper system is configured to reduce vibrations to the flexible coupling shaft during operation of the engine assembly.

A throttle unit is equipped with a grooved block including at least one minute groove formed on a plane surface, and an opposite block having a plane surface which is opposite to the minute groove. The grooved block and the opposite block are detachably joined so as to be opposite to each other. A throttle fluid path is formed by the minute groove and the plane surface of the opposite block. At least one surface of each of the minute groove is constituted by a curved surface or an inclined surface that is inclined with respect to the plane surface of the grooved block.

Each bearing pad includes an internal cooling opening defined in the bearing pad and an internal channel network defined in the bearing pad with at least one channel node in fluid communication with the internal cooling opening and at least two passageways in fluid communication with and extending from the channel node through the bearing pad. At least one of the passageways extends to an exterior surface of the bearing pad to define at least one cooling discharge opening.

Tilting-pad bearing and method of manufacturing thereof

According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a bearing (100) for supporting a shaft (200) rotating around an axis A is provided. The bearing (100) comprises: a bearing housing (120); and a plurality of tilting pads (130), wherein each tilting pad is connected to the housing (120) via a flexible web support (135) and comprises a bearing surface (136) directed toward a shaft receiving space (125) configured for supporting a shaft. The bearing surface (136) of at least one tilting pad (130) of the plurality of tilting pads is provided with a plurality of lubricant feed openings (140). According to a further aspect, a method of operating a bearing (100) as well as a method of manufacturing a bearing (100) are provided.

A tilting pad bearing includes a plurality of pads slidably supporting an outside surface of a rotor shaft, a housing covering the plurality of pads, a support portion swingably supporting the pad with respect to the housing, and a fluid supply unit configured to supply a fluid to a pad surface.

The support portion includes a pivot having a pad support surface in contact with a pad outside surface and a pivot curved surface curved facing and protruding toward a side opposite to the pad support surface, a liner having a first liner surface in contact with the pivot curved surface, and a biasing member biasing the liner toward the pivot with respect to the housing.
