A bearing unit includes a radially outer ring, a radially inner ring, a row of rolling bodies interposed between the radially outer ring and the radially inner ring and a cage for retaining the rolling bodies, where the cage includes a rib with a circular base and a plurality of circumferentially spaced fingers defining a plurality of pockets for holding the respective rolling bodies of the row of rolling bodies. Also, a plurality of inserts formed separately from the cage, each of the plurality of inserts being inserted inside seats of corresponding adjacent pairs of fingers of the plurality of fingers to limit circumferential deformation of the fingers.

Rolling bearing

A rolling bearing includes: an inner ring; an outer ring; a plurality of rolling elements provided between an inner ring raceway and an outer ring raceway; and a cage that holds the rolling elements at intervals in a circumferential direction. The cage includes an annular portion provided in a first axial direction with respect to the rolling elements, and a plurality of cage bars provided to extend in a second axial direction from the annular portion. The annular portion includes a contact surface that makes sliding contact with a shoulder portion. The cage bars each include a first projecting portion and a second projecting portion. The second projecting portion covers a part of the inner ring raceway on a side of the shoulder portion.

BEARING CAGE ASSEMBLY INCLUDING METAL SHELL

A bearing cage assembly is disclosed herein that includes a first cage half formed as a plastic cage and a second cage half formed as a metal shell. The first cage half includes a first base rim and a first plurality of arms extending axially from the first base rim. The second cage half includes a second base rim and a second plurality of arms extending axially from the second base rim. The second plurality of arms are each formed by a first flange and a second flange. The first flange and the second flange are spaced apart from each other in a radial direction to define a receptacle dimensioned to receive a respective one of the first plurality of arms. Free ends of the first flange and the second flange are crimped over to retain the first cage half with the second cage half.

A one-way snap-in cage for a deep groove ball bearing having an annular backbone portion and a hanging out portion extending from the backbone portion towards an axial side. The hanging out portion including a pocket for accommodating a rolling element of a bearing in a circumferential direction and a pocket connection used to connect adjacent pockets. A bottom portion of the pocket is formed integrally with the backbone portion. The ratio H.sub.c/D.sub.w of a radial size H.sub.c of the cage in terms of thickness to the diameter D.sub.w of the rolling element of the bearing satisfies the relation 17.679%H.sub.c/D.sub.w37.389%, the radial size H.sub.c of the cage is equal in value to half of the difference between the maximum outer diameter D.sub.c_max and the minimum inner diameter D.sub.c_min of the cage. The present invention further provides a deep groove ball bearing using the cage.

Two-piece bearing cage

A hybrid bearing cage, suitable for high-speed applications, includes a plastic ring and a metal stiffener. Rollers, such as balls, are retained in roller retainers in the plastic ring. The roller retainers are joined by links. The metal stiffener has an annular portion and a plurality of radial extensions that extend over the links, reducing deflection and stress concentrations in the plastic ring due to centrifugal forces.
