TAPERED ROLLER BEARING

A tapered roller bearing includes an inner ring, an outer ring, a plurality of tapered rollers provided in an annular space formed between the inner and outer rings and rolling on an inner raceway surface and an outer raceway surface, and an annular cage that holds the tapered rollers. The cage has a small annular portion positioned toward an axially first side with respect to the tapered rollers, a large annular portion positioned toward an axially second side with respect to the tapered rollers, and a plurality of cage bars that couples the small annular portion and the large annular portion together. A minute clearance is formed between the inner ring and the large annular portion and between the outer ring and the large annular portion, respectively.

The invention relates to a method of forming a rolling element bearing cage assembly, comprising forming one or more segments, the forming of each segment comprising: forming a supporting frame having a plurality of spaced apart openings; forming a reinforcing frame including a corresponding plurality of openings each for aligning with the openings of the supporting frame; and inserting the reinforcing frame within the supporting frame.

Tapered Roller Bearing

A tapered roller bearing includes an inner ring, an outer ring, a plurality of tapered rollers, and an annular cage. The cage has a small annular portion, a large annular portion, and a plurality of cage bars that couples the small annular portion and the large annular portion together. The cage is enabled to come into contact with an inner peripheral surface of the outer ring at least on an axially first side so that the contact allows the cage to be positioned in a radial direction. Each of the cage bars has pocket surfaces each of which faces an outer peripheral surface of the corresponding tapered roller, and each pocket surface has a flat surface shape that is straight in a direction from the inner ring toward the outer ring and that is enabled to come into line contact with the corresponding tapered roller.

Cage segment and associated rolling bearing

A cage segment for a rolling bearing delimiting a plurality of through pockets for receiving rollers and having first and second walls extending in the circumferential direction and provided with internal surfaces opposite one another and forming abutment surfaces for the end faces of the rollers, and a plurality of beams extending transversely between the first and second walls and linking the walls, each pocket being delimited in the circumferential direction by two successive beams and each beam partly delimiting two successive pockets. Each beam includes, at a lateral end, a protuberance of concave outer form and intended to come into contact with the outer surface of at least one roller, two protuberances being opposite in the circumferential direction for each through pocket.

FINITE LINEAR MOTION GUIDE UNIT HAVING RETAINER STRAYING PREVENTION MECHANISM
20180010634 · 2018-01-11 ·

In a finite linear motion guide unit, a retainer for retaining rollers rolling between guide members is formed into a V-like shape to thereby increase a rated load. A first guide member is formed into a V-like concave form, and a second guide member is formed into a V-like convex form. Needle rollers are retained by the V-shaped retainer and roll on a raceway formed by facing surfaces of the guide members. The V-shaped retainer includes a pair of roller retainer plate portions for retaining the needle rollers, and a retainer connection portion. A retainer straying prevention mechanism is composed of a pinion disposed in a cross-opening, and racks disposed on the guide members and meshing with the pinion.

SNAP FEATURE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD

A multi-component snap assembly is disclosed herein in which a snap flange has a snap nose with a contact face including a relief. The relief is configured to prevent undesirably high stress in the snap flange during assembly with another component that includes a retention pocket. A method of attaching or connecting two components with each other using a snap flange with a relief is also disclosed herein.

CAGE SEGMENT FOR A ROLLING-ELEMENT BEARING CAGE

A cage segment defines a single pocket of a multipart rolling-element bearing cage and includes first and second circumferentially spaced side walls connected by first and second end walls. The first and second side walls and the first and second end walls are formed by at least one sheet metal segment connected at at least one joint.

THRUST BEARING CAGE WITH PILOTING FLANGE

A thrust bearing cage includes a piloting feature to radially locate a thrust bearing with respect to one of the shafts. Specifically, the bearing cage includes an axial extension at an outer diameter that extends beyond the rollers and around an outer diameter of end of the shaft. This feature permits elimination of a washer.
