Splined oil catcher
A system is presented for directing the flow of cooling fluid in a rotational machine having co-axial rotatable shafts. The system comprises a first shaft rotatable about an axis, a second shaft rotatable about the axis and having a portion axially overlapping with the first shaft, and a fluid catcher. The fluid catcher is coupled between the first shaft and the second shaft. The fluid catcher comprises a first interface region interfacing with the first shaft, a second interface region interfacing with the second shaft, a fluid retention lip at least partly defining an oil capture region; and a body. The body is coupled to the oil retention lip and defines a channel in fluid communication with the oil capture region. The channel is positioned to direct fluid to one of the first interface region or the second interface region.
Fan clutch
A fan clutch assembly includes several features. A first feature relates to a lubrication passage that runs through the clutch package and has a return collection passage that extends through the operating piston. As a result, pitot tubes employed behind the piston may not be necessitated. Additionally, an anti-tamper device may be installed on the lead screw body to prevent adjustment of the fan hub and unintentional adjustment of the load carried on various bearings contained within the fan clutch assembly. Additionally, to position the speed sensor appropriately, a transfer shaft is provided that extends from the fan hub and/or lead screw back to the backside where a sensor is provided. This transfer shaft can be adjusted to precisely locate the sensor target relative to the sensor.
FRICTION PLATE
Problem—To provide a friction plate with reduced drag torque.
Solution—The friction plate is formed with oil grooves having the sectorial shapes spreading toward the inner circumference and the perimeter. The adjacent edges of the friction material segments are provided with the perimeter side vertex and the inner circumference side vertex respectively. The sectorial oil groove opening toward the perimeter side from the inner circumferential side vertexes can discharge a lube oil to the perimeter side efficiently by a centrifugal force. Also, owing to the sectorial oil groove opening toward the inner circumference side from the perimeter side vertexes, a lube oil can be made to run aground onto the friction material segments due to a centrifugal force, thus, reducing the drag torque markedly compared with the conventional plates.
COOLING SYSTEM FOR CLUTCH MECHANISM
A clutch mechanism designed to be installed between an engine and a motor vehicle transmission, wherein the clutch mechanism includes at least one cooling duct arranged to make a cooling fluid circulate toward the clutch, wherein each cooling duct includes an axially extending part and at least one radially extending part, the axially extending part of each cooling duct is situated radially between a transmission shaft and an interior face of the clutch support, and at least one radially extending part of each cooling duct is situated axially between the support bearing and the output hub.
Rotary-member lubricating structure
A rotary-member lubricating structure includes a housing, a baffle portion, a support portion, and a bolt. The baffle portion has a shape conforming to a shape of a rotary member included in a speed-changing mechanism and covers the rotary member to collect or discharge scattered lubricating oil. The baffle portion includes a first partial baffle portion provided on a first side of the rotary member and a second partial baffle portion provided on a second side of the rotary member. The first partial baffle portion has a protrusion protruding radially outward from an outer circumference of the baffle portion and a fastening hole provided in the protrusion and extending through the first partial baffle portion in an axial direction of the rotary member. The second partial baffle portion has a filling portion to fill a recess in the first partial baffle portion provided due to the protrusion.
SWITCHING DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSMISSION
The invention relates to a shifting device for a motor vehicle transmission, comprising a first coupling component, a second coupling component rotatable about a transmission axis (A), an inner friction ring which has a conical surface on a radially outer face, an outer friction ring which has a conical surface on a radially inner face, and an intermediate friction ring which comprises a friction cone and is connected to the second coupling component for joint rotation with and for axial displacement with respect to the second coupling component, whilst the inner friction ring and the outer friction ring are connected to the first coupling component for joint rotation with and for axial displacement with respect to the first coupling component. The friction cone extends between the conical surfaces of the inner friction ring and outer friction ring, the coupling components being decoupled in the rotation direction in an axial starting position of the outer friction ring and being coupled in a frictional fit in the rotation direction in an axial frictional fit position of the outer friction ring. The intermediate friction ring has a C-shaped ring cross section extending peripherally in the circumferential direction, comprising a radially outer linear cone limb which forms the friction cone and comprises two substantially parallel conical friction surfaces, and comprising a radially inner linear axial limb which is integrally connected to the cone limb by a radial web.
TRACTOR WITH IMPROVED CLUTCH HOUSING
There is provided a tractor with an improved clutch housing structure, which includes a hydro-static transmission (HST) positioned between a clutch and a secondary transmission, to transmit power. The tractor comprises: a clutch housing with the clutch and the HST positioned inside; a partition to separate the clutch from the HST formed inside the clutch housing; and a heat-radiating opening formed in the partition.
CLUTCH CARRIER ASSEMBLY HAVING RETENTION LIP AND FLUID DAM
A clutch carrier assembly for a transmission comprising: an axis of rotation, a clutch carrier outer ring concentric about the axis of rotation and having: an outer surface including undulating peaks; and, an inner surface including an axially extending stiffening rib portion; and, an outer race having a radially outward protrusion including a notch arranged for receiving and retaining the axially extending stiffening rib portion.
Wet clutch lubrication evacuation
A wet clutch system includes fluid-flow apertures in the clutch piston which allow for reduction of oil shear forces between rotating clutch plates and a stationary piston. In particular the apertures pass through the piston in the area of the piston's engagement with the clutch plates. When the piston is in its deactivated position and spaced from the clutch plates, the radially-outward position of these apertures allows high-pressure, centrifugally-driven clutch fluid to migrate away from the clutch plates through the piston to a backfill cavity on the opposite side of the piston. An air-inlet aperture may be provided in or near the clutch hub to facilitate this oil migration.
Coupling Arrangement For The Powertrain Of A Vehicle
A coupling arrangement for the powertrain of a vehicle with a clutch housing with a feed arrangement for feed medium contained in the clutch housing and with a clutch mechanism, wherein the clutch mechanism has input-side clutch units communicating with an input-side clutch unit carrier, output-side clutch units communicating with an output-side clutch unit carrier, and a pressing device through which an operative connection between the input-side clutch units and the output-side clutch units can be produced or cancelled, and wherein the input-side clutch unit carrier is part of the feed arrangement. The feed arrangement further has a feed device which is associated with the input-side clutch unit carrier and which is connected to the input-side clutch unit carrier and/or to the pressing device so as to be fixed with respect to relative rotation.
