A dynamic vibration absorber is integrally coupled to a section of at least one of the drive hub and the driven hub. The section is an uninvolved section that is not involved in a torsional stiffness of the whole shaft coupling.

The ring assembly (30) rotates with the drive assembly (28) in response to rotational torque generated by the pinion gear (24) of the starter motor (22). The drive assembly (28) disengages from the ring assembly (30) in response to rotational torque generated by the engine.
