The blades are driven by wind power at a rotational speed. A motor, powered by a photovoltaic panel, drives a rotating drive shaft. A one-way clutch links the drive shaft to the base so that when the rotational speed of the blade assembly is greater than the rotational speed of the drive shaft, the clutch prevents transfer of the rotational force from the drive shaft to the base. When the rotational speed of the blade assembly is less than the rotational speed of the drive shaft, the clutch transfers rotational force from the drive shaft to the base.

A multi-mode clutch module for connecting two components rotating relative to each other may include an outer race, an inner race and pawls coupled to the inner race and movable between engagement to and disengagement from the outer race to alternately lock and unlock the races for relative rotation in one or both directions. A cam ring and a plurality of cams extending therefrom are coupled to the inner race for rotation therewith and for axial movement parallel to a rotational axis of the races. A shift ring is operatively connected between the cam ring and a shift drum such that rotation of the shift drum caused by a stationary actuator causes translation of the shift ring to move the cam ring and cams so the cams engage the pawls to move the pawls between their locked and unlocked positions.

The present patent application discloses an overrunning alternator damping pulley. The overrunning alternator damping pulley includes a pulley body, two ball bearings provided on both ends of a shaft hole of the pulley body; and a hub for supporting the two ball bearings. At least one spring holder is provided on the hub. At least one friction spring is installed on the spring holder. One end of the friction spring is inserted to the spring holder. Another end of the friction spring forms a free end spirally extending along an axial direction of the hub. The outer ring of the friction spring is in contact with an inner wall of the pulley body. A damping groove corresponding to the friction spring is provided on the inner wall of the pulley body.

The couplings between the torsion spring and the input shaft and the output shaft permit limited relative rotation between the input shaft and the output shaft. The device further comprises a jamming mechanism operable in response to relative rotation between the input shaft and output shaft to stop rotation of both the input shaft and the output shaft.

Moreover, the actuator may positon the cam profile to selectably actuate the selectable locking mechanism into one of the plurality of locking modes.

The pawl pusher (50) may include a pair of axially extending wing portions (54, 56) that may be slidably supported in one of the opposed slots (52) to limit movement of the pawl pusher (50) to radial, only. Axial and/or circumferential force loads transmitted to the pawl pusher (50) by the pawl (40) may not be transferred to the radially movable plunger (24).
