An electromagnetically actuable brake device includes: a coil shell, in particular of the solenoid, an armature disk, which is connected to the coil shell in a torque-proof yet displaceable manner, a sensor having a sensor housing, a spring part, and a screwed cable gland. The coil shell has a stepped through bore, the sensor housing of the sensor has a stepped configuration, the screwed cable gland is situated at an end of the bore, in particular is screwed into a threaded section of the bore, the spring part is situated in the bore between the screwed cable gland and the sensor housing, the spring part is braced on a step of the sensor housing on one side and on the screwed cable gland on the other, and the sensor housing is pressed against a step of the bore, in particular by the spring part.
AIRCRAFT BRAKING INDICATORS
An indicator for monitoring temperature and wear of one or more aircraft brakes. One or more sensors are provided for sensing a parameter of usage, and an estimate of usage of the part can be determined based upon the signal indicating the sensed value of the parameter of usage of the aircraft part. A plurality of sensors can be provided for sensing usage of a plurality of parts of the aircraft, and the estimate of usage of the part can be stored for access of the estimate by ground personnel. In addition, the sensed usage data are critical inputs for the brake controller to regulate which brakes are applied.
METHOD AND TECHNOLOGY FOR DETECTING AND RELEASING ICED-UP BRAKE LININGS OF AN ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE
A method for determining a state of a brake lining on a wheel brake of a brake system of a motor vehicle is disclosed. The wheel brake has an electromechanical brake actuator which is designed to build up a force, such as a braking force, acting on a brake disc of the brake system by pressing the brake lining against the brake disc, and which is assigned to a first axle of the motor vehicle. The method comprises the steps of: detecting a first wheel rotation rate and/or first wheel speed of the first motor-vehicle axle assigned to the electromechanical brake actuator; detecting a second wheel rotation rate and/or first wheel speed of the second motor-vehicle axle; and determining the state of the brake lining on the basis of the first and second wheel rotation rate and/or wheel speed. A method for operating a brake system of a motor vehicle, a computer program product, a control unit and a vehicle brake system are also disclosed.
Method for monitoring an electromagnetically actuable brake, and vehicle having an electromagnetically actuable brake
In a method for monitoring an electromagnetically actuable brake, which has an energizable coil that interacts with a tractive electromagnet situated so as to be linearly movable, and a vehicle having an electromagnetically actuable brake, the current flowing through the coil is acquired, the acquired current value in particular being conveyed to an evaluation unit, the voltage applied at the coil is intermittently increased, and a relative position of the tractive electromagnet with respect to the coil is determined from the thereby induced current characteristic, in particular the characteristic of the current rise, it is particularly determined from the ascertained position whether the brake is in the applied state or in the released state, the tractive electromagnet in particular is arranged as a permanent magnet or has a permanent magnet.

An electro-mechanical brake includes: a brake disc; a friction pad; a pressing unit configured to press the friction pad toward the brake disc; a motor supplying power to the pressing unit; a current sensor; a position sensor configured to measure a position of the pressing unit; and an initial position calculating unit calculating at least one of a home position or a contact point of the pressing unit, wherein the pressing unit is configured to pass through a first check point at which a first current is measured, and a second check point at which a second current greater than the first current is measured, and wherein the initial position calculating unit calculates at least one of the home position or the contact point based on the first current, the first check point, the second current, and the second check point.

A method and a system for monitoring wear of a braking frictional pad of a motor vehicle, includes stopping the motor vehicle stably on a horizontal or substantially horizontal plane; determining a current fluid level in a brake fluid reservoir; determining a volume difference (ΔV.sub.L) of the brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir by comparing the determined current fluid level with a predetermined reference fluid level; when a thickness loss of a braking frictional pad equipped for a front vehicle wheel or a rear vehicle wheel is known, determining a thickness loss of a braking frictional pad assigned for the other front vehicle wheel or the other rear vehicle wheel based on the volume difference of the brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir and a diameter of a brake piston of the respective brake device.

A method and a system for monitoring wear of a braking frictional pad of a motor vehicle, the motor vehicle including a brake device acting on a vehicle wheel, the brake device including a braking frictional pad that is non-rotatable relative to the vehicle wheel and is linearly movable parallel to a rotational axis of the vehicle wheel; a brake piston configured to drive the braking frictional pad; and an electric parking brake or an electric mechanical brake, the electric parking brake or the electric mechanical brake having a drive motor and a piston driving part driven by the drive motor to be linearly movable, the piston driving part being configured to, when the motor vehicle is braking, drive the brake piston to contact the braking frictional pad and in turn drive the braking frictional pad to move.

A brake force measurement device may include: a pad detection part configured to detect a condition of a pad installed on a caliper; a brake detection part mounted on the caliper, and configured to detect deformation of the caliper; a controller configured to transmit/receive signals to/from the pad detection part and the brake detection part, and measure a brake force and detect whether the pad is worn; a sensor transfer part configured to connect the pad detection part and the brake detection part, and transfer a detection signal of the pad detection part to the brake detection part; and a control transfer part configured to connect the brake detection part and the controller, and transfer the detection signal of the pad detection part and the detection signal of the brake detection part to the controller.
Brake plate wear detection using solenoid current signature
A method for monitoring the health of a brake plate having a solenoid with a solenoid air gap includes creating a reference solenoid current profile for the brake plate solenoid air gap, by: calculating a nominal solenoid current profile based on the air gap under nominal conditions, calculating a upper and lower limit of the nominal solenoid current profile, based on an impact of at least one external variation and/or tolerance of the brake plate, and creating the reference solenoid current profile by combining said upper and lower limits into the nominal solenoid current profile. The method also includes generating and measuring a solenoid current curve of the brake plate and determining if said generated curve of the brake plate is between said upper and lower limits to determine that the brake plate is healthy.
