Torque limiter for a drive train
A torque limiter for a drive train includes a rotational axis extending in an axial direction, a drive side, an output side, a first friction surface on a one of the drive side or the output side, a second friction surface on the other of the drive side or the output side, and a friction lining. The friction lining has a first material with a first friction coefficient facing the first friction surface and a second material with a second friction coefficient, different from the first friction coefficient, facing the second friction surface. The friction lining is under a preload acting in the axial direction, torque-transmissively connects the output side to the drive side until a limit torque is reached, and is arranged to slip on the first friction surface when the limit torque is exceeded.
RING, METHOD, AND ASSEMBLY FOR COMPONENT DISPLACEMENT CONTROL
An assembly having an outer component, an inner component, and a ring positioned between the outer component and the inner component, where the ring has at least one radially extending projection adapted to seat within at least one groove in the inner component or outer component, and where the projection is adapted to compress radially to allow rotational or axial movement between the inner component and the outer component upon application of rotational or axial force respectively to at least one of the inner component or the outer component.
TOLERANCE RING WITH MODIFIED SURFACE PROPERTIES
Systems and methods include providing a tolerance ring with a friction enhancement feature on at least one surface of the tolerance ring to increase at least one friction-related property of the tolerance ring. The friction enhancement feature provides the tolerance ring with an increased retention force while providing an optimum radial force that allows a component secured by the tolerance ring to move freely while reducing or altogether preventing axial movement of the component.
SLIDING COMPONENT, ASSEMBLY, AND METHOD OF FORMING AND USING THE SAME
A sliding component including a sidewall including at least one low stiffness projection capable of elastic deformation, and at least one high stiffness projection capable of plastic deformation, where the low stiffness projection includes a radial face at an innermost or outermost surface adapted to contact a neighboring component.
Transmission device
A transmission device includes an external transmission device, an internal transmission device, and a spacer ring. The external transmission device is cylindrical and has an outer wall and an inner wall. The inner wall has a plurality of inwardly extending arc-shaped protrusions. The internal transmission device is disposed in the inner wall and has an outer circumferential surface including a plurality of outwardly extending arc-shaped protrusions. The spacer ring is located between and contacts the arc-shaped protrusions of the external transmission device and the arc-shaped protrusions of the internal transmission device. When torque between the external transmission device and the internal transmission device is greater than a predetermined torque, one or more of the arc-shaped protrusions of the external transmission device or the arc-shaped protrusions of the internal transmission device deform and the external transmission device rotationally slips relative to the internal transmission device.
Clutch mechanism for rotary power tool
A clutch mechanism is used in a rotary power tool having a motor. The clutch mechanism includes an input member to which torque from the motor is transferred and an output member co-rotatable with the input member. The output member defines a rotational axis. A cam surface is formed on one of the input member or the output member. First and second compression springs are carried by the other of the input member or the output member for co-rotation therewith. A follower has a circular cross-sectional shape and is biased against the cam surface by the first and second compression springs. In response to relative rotation between the input member and the output member, the cam surface displaces the follower along a line of action coaxial or parallel with each of the first and second compression springs. The line of action does not intersect the rotational axis.
Fine Pitch Adjuster
A fine pitch adjuster that includes a housing, a wheel gear positioned within the housing and coupled to a ball stud, wherein rotation of the wheel gear provides inward and outward longitudinal translation of the ball stud relative to the housing, and a clutching worm input drive including, an inner drive sleeve having a shaft portion and a head portion, the shaft portion including a plurality of sleeve slots formed therein and a plurality of engagement ribs, and an outer worm gear sleeve having worm gear threads, the worm gear threads coupled at least indirectly to the wheel gear, and an inner chamber, the outer worm gear sleeve including a plurality of grooves extending longitudinally along the inner chamber for mating engagement with the plurality of engagement ribs, wherein rotation of the inner drive sleeve provides clutchable engagement with the outer worm gear sleeve to rotate the wheel gear.
Clutch apparatus
An excessive torque releasing type clutch apparatus comprises an outer ring, an inner ring arranged radially inside and coaxially with the outer ring and rotatably relative to the outer ring, a torque transmitting portion capable of transmitting torque between the outer ring and the inner ring, and a restricting mechanism for restricting excessive torque from being input from an input torque transmitting member to a driving ring of the outer ring and the inner ring and restricting excessive inverse torque that is input to a driven ring of the outer ring and the inner ring from being input to the input torque transmitting member. Treatment steps for securing strength of constituent members of the clutch apparatus in manufacturing be simplified or omitted.
Tolerance ring
An assembly including an outer member; an inner member; and a tolerance ring disposed between the inner member and the outer member, wherein the tolerance ring is a split ring comprising opposing edges, where the edges engaged with at one of the inner member or the outer member so as to prevent or restrict movement between the tolerance ring and at least one of the inner member or the outer member, or where the tolerance ring is deformed as installed between the inner member and the outer member and forms at least one buckled region in the tolerance ring due to an interference fit between the inner member and the outer member, where in an uninstalled state, the buckled region is absent.
