LOAD-BEARING COMPONENT FOR THE FASTENING, LASHING, AND/OR LIFTING TECHNOLOGY WITH A PLASTIC-METAL COMPOSITE SYSTEM
The invention relates to a load-bearing component (1) for the fastening, lashing, and/or lifting technology, such as a shackle, a snap hook, a hook, or a ring link. The component (1) comprises a plastic-metal composite system (4) which forms at least one load-bearing section (2) and at least one connection section (3). The load-bearing section (2) serves to fasten and/or suspend a load, for example, by use of a fastening device. The component (1) can with the aid of the connection section (3) be attached to an object, for example, to a load or a further component (1). In order to design the component (1) as light as possible while having a high load-bearing capacity, its is according to the invention provided the plastic-metal composite system (4) comprises a core (5) made of fiber-plastic composite (16) extending continuously from the load-bearing section (2) to the connection section (3) and comprising at least one outer shell (8) made of metal material and disposed on the load-bearing section (2) and/or the connection section (3). The outer shell (8) serves to transfer a force acting from the outside upon the component (1) across a large surface to core (5).

COUPLING DEVICE
A coupling device comprising a flexible elongate member of at least one length of an at least twice wound rope and a pin configured to be removably engaged with the flexible elongate member, wherein the flexible elongate member is formed as a loop or a part loop completing the loop with the pin, wherein at least one winding of rope is of disparate length to at least one other winding.
SPLICER THIMBLE FOR ROPE
A thimble apparatus for use with a rope has a thimble eye formed as a generally U-shaped shackle defining a center aperture therein with arms on opposing sides of the aperture. The thimble eye has an outer surface, a front face, and a rear face. A groove is formed within the front face of the shackle generally in the shape of a U and has a width. A rope seat is formed within the shackle beneath the groove proximal to the rear face and has a diameter larger than the width of the groove. The groove forms a passage to the rope seat from the front face along the length of the groove. A base connects to ends of the arms of the shackle closing the aperture. The base defines a channel formed as an open-ended groove through the base such that in use the channel permits a rope to extend from either one of adjacent sides of the base to position the thimble apparatus between first and second positions.
Cable slider with symmetric pieces
A device which can slide up and down on a chain or cable, can be loosened to attach to the chain or cable, but does not have any parts that come free when the part is loosened. The device includes first and second pieces, each made of structural material, the first and second pieces fitting together at concave and convex surfaces, to form an interlock forms inner surfaces with a through hole of a first shape that can slide along either a cable or a chain.
