Disposable bidirectional ratchet
11576661 · 2023-02-14 · ·

A disposable bidirectional ratchet, which has a tubular hollow handle with an interior surface having teeth thereon; a toggle mounted movably within the handle; a knob connected to an end of the toggle moves the toggle inside the handle; a plurality of pins on another end of the toggle; a plurality of actuators each comprising: fingers, levers, toes and a head, and having a post guide formed therein; a plurality of posts affixed to a clutch; and, wherein the actuators are movable affixed to the clutch via the posts, and the pin position selects the direction of engagement via adjustment of the actuator position via applying force to the levers, which moves the lateral edges of the actuator towards or away from the teeth.

RATCHET LOAD BINDER WITH TENSION MONITOR SYSTEM
20220389988 · 2022-12-08 ·

A hand operated tool for binding a load. The tool including a hollow tube with interior left hand and right hand threads at opposing ends. Opposing rods with exterior threads on one end and a releasable connection device on the other end that is screwed into each end of the tube. A gear rigidly mounted and encircling the tube allowing a pivotly attached ratcheting U-pawl to engage the gear teeth, the U-pawl attached to and carried by a handle assembly mounted on each side of the gear, the handle protruding perpendicular from the tube. The handle turning the tube in a first rotational direction drawing the rods closer together tightening the bind, the handle turning the tube in a second rotational direction moving the rods farther apart loosening the bind, the rods remaining stationary in rotation during rotation of the tube. A blocking device may be installed to prevent the U-pawl from pivoting into a position to turn the tube in the second rotational direction, that would loosen the bind on the load, the blocking device allowing normal ratcheting and turning of the tube in the first rotational direction tightening the bind on the load. A recessed-pawl partially pivoting independently of the U-pawl and engaging with the gear to prevent the tube from turning in the second-rotational-direction that would loosen the bind on the load when the U-pawl is in a neutral position whereby the U-pawl is not engaged with the gear. In addition, a tension-detecting-device suitable to detect or measure the tension on the ratchet load binder rods and also monitor and communicate the tension to the operator is also provided.

Ratchet mechanism spring
09844860 · 2017-12-19 · ·

A spring component for a ratcheting mechanism, such as a ratchet wrench. The spring component is shaped to be retained in a recess without any special machining. For example, the spring component can be retained at three abutment points. A leaf of the spring component can abut a pawl, and a base portion opposite the leaf can abut the drive gear. Support arms can abut the sidewall of the recess to retain the spring component within the recess without the need for special machining or tooling.

Rotor turning device for large turbine/generator in-situ rotors

A tool assembly for safely rotating a heavy turbine generator rotor for alignment and maintenance purposes. The tool assembly includes a plurality of segments mounted to an outer face of a coupling affixed to an end of a shaft of the rotor, where the segments include a plurality of segment teeth extending beyond an outer edge of the coupling. A tool is positioned adjacent to the coupling and includes a support assembly, a hydraulic ram and a ratcheting pawl. The ratcheting pawl includes a drive pin positioned to engage the teeth of the segments, where extension of a piston rod from the hydraulic ram causes the coupling and shaft to rotate.

ROD ROTATOR

A rod rotator has a crankshaft with non-aligned crank journals, a first actuating pawl attached to the first crank journal and a second actuating pawl attached to the second crank journal, and a ratchet wheel connected to a polished rod. The first actuating pawl pushes on the ratchet wheel to rotate the ratchet wheel while the second actuating pawl pulls on the ratchet wheel to rotate the ratchet wheel at the same time.

Advance and hold pawl actuator
11725715 · 2023-08-15 · ·

In an actuator system having a toothed actuator and a tensioner to apply a tension force to the toothed actuator, a hold mechanism holds the tooth actuator stationary, through disengage-able contact with at least one tooth thereof, with respect to a direction of the tension force while allowing the tooth actuator to move freely in a direction opposite the direction of the tension force. An advancement pawl having at least two degrees of freedom engages with one or more teeth on the tooth actuator to displace the tooth actuator a distance in the direction opposite of the direction of the tension force.

Lifter device

A lifter device includes a pinion gear and a rotation control device that is configured to control rotation of the pinion gear. The rotation control device includes a rotation shaft, a support member, a rotation driving mechanism, and a lock mechanism. The rotation drive mechanism includes a feed gear, and a plurality of feed pawls. The lock mechanism is configured to release locking of the rotation shaft until any one of the feed pawls meshes with the feed gear when an operation handle is operated. A plurality of the feed pawls are provided with respect to either operation direction on a seat lifting side or lowering side of the operation handle, and one of the feed pawls meshes with the feed gear when at least one of the others of the feed pawls does not mesh with the gear.

Selectable one-way clutch with solenoid actuator and pivoting actuation member controlling active strut deployment

A controllable one-way clutch assembly having an actuator module equipped with a solenoid actuator, an active strut moveable in response to energization of the solenoid actuator from a released position to a locked position, a strut spring biasing the active strut toward its released position, and an indirect strut actuation arrangement between the solenoid actuator and the active strut. The indirect strut actuation arrangement includes an intermediate actuation component having a first lug establishing a coupling interface with a translatable plunger of the solenoid actuator and a second lug establishing an engagement interface with the active strut.
