Bicycle lubricant
A bicycle chain lubricant that may be applied as a coating on a bicycle chain is a crystalline solid at ambient temperatures, yet when the chain is in motion the forces around internal components locally transforms the coating to a lubricous fluid. This increases chain efficiency in the drive train and reduces ware by limiting water and dirt access to chain internal components.
TRANSMISSION MECHANISM
The present invention provides a transmission mechanism that can efficiently lubricate a rotating member with a small amount of a lubricant. The transmission mechanism, which includes a housing, and a first rotating member accommodated in the housing and rotatable about a first rotating member axis, further includes a lubricating member accommodated in the housing and containing a lubricant, wherein while the first rotating member rotates about the lubricating member, the lubricating member applies a preload to and comes into contact with the first rotating member on the basis of an elastic force, so that a part of the first rotating member is lubricated with the lubricant.
Chain drive system
An object of the present invention is to provide a chain drive system capable of reducing sliding resistance between a chain and a guide shoe, suppressing an increase, over time, in sliding resistance, and reducing wear on the guide shoe. A chain drive system according to the present invention includes a chain having a plurality of chain plates, a plurality of sprockets on which the chain is wound, and one or more guides each including, integrally or separately, a guide shoe having a chain-running surface, and slidably guiding, in presence of lubricating oil, the chain. At least one of the plurality of chain plates has a lubricant region retaining a solid lubricant.
ACTUATOR
An actuator includes an electric motor, an output shaft and a speed reducer. The speed reducer includes at least one metal gear which has a plurality of teeth made of metal. The speed reducer is configured to transmit rotation, which is outputted from the electric motor, to the output shaft after reducing a rotational speed of the rotation. The actuator includes a housing that receives the electric motor and the speed reducer. The actuator includes a plate member that is configured to limit scattering of a scattering object, which is generated in response to an operation of the speed reducer and is scattered from the at least one metal gear.
COATING FOR A TRIBOLOGICAL SURFACE OF A COMPONENT
A component includes a metallic substrate having a tribological surface and a coating. The coating includes a first layer disposed on the tribological surface and a second layer disposed on the first layer. The first layer includes titanium, chromium, or a diamond-like carbon (DLC). The second layer includes a disulfide.
MOTOR-DRIVEN POWER STEERING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
A motor-driven power steering system for a vehicle is configured such that movement of the worm shaft and a clearance caused by backlash between the worm wheel and the worm shaft may be prevented using the bearing-integrated damper bush which is coupled to the end portion of the worm shaft and is made of steel, and during of rotation of the worm shaft, the lubricant is supplied between the worm shaft and the bearing-integrated damper bush to facilitate lubrication and cooling.
Cam follower with polycrystalline diamond engagement element
A cam follower is provided. The cam follower includes a polycrystalline diamond element, including an engagement surface. The engagement surface of the polycrystalline diamond element is positioned on the cam follower for sliding engagement with an opposing engagement surface of a cam. The cam includes at least some of a diamond reactive material.
Joints with diamond bearing surfaces
Articulable joints having diamond bearing surfaces engaged with metal bearing surfaces are provided herein. The articulable joints provide multiple degrees of freedom to components, such as drivelines, and bear loads in multiple directions. The articulable joints include diamond bearing surfaces slidingly engaged with opposing metal bearing surfaces that include more than trace amounts of diamond solvent-catalyst.
Wire rope, sheave and drum
An object of the present invention is to further improve upon the strength and durability of a wire rope. A wire rope has a core rope made of steel; a covering layer, which is made of a composite resin, covering the outer peripheral surface of the core rope; and multiple side strands, which are made of steel, wound on the outer peripheral surface of the core rope covered with the covering layer. The composite resin constituting the covering layer is obtained by blending cellulose nanofibers with polypropylene serving as a matrix.
