Energy management systems (EMS) for transportation refrigeration units (TRU)
Disclosed is a transportation unit comprising: a plurality of roadway wheels including wheel, a plurality of continuously variable transmissions (CVTs) including a first CVT and a second CVT, the plurality of CVTs receiving rotational input from the wheel, and a generator that is rotationally driven by rotational output from the plurality of CVTs, and wherein each of the plurality of CVTs is engaged over one of a corresponding plurality of discrete wheel rotational speeds.
CONTROL METHOD AND CONTROL APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
The control method for the continuously variable transmission in the present invention detects a magnitude of an acceleration request, and when the acceleration request exceeds a preset threshold value, the control method controls a transmission ratio by switching from a first shift mode, in which a target transmission ratio is changed steplessly, to a second shift mode, which includes a stepwise change in the target transmission ratio. Then, when executing the second shift mode, a target engine rotation speed is set according to the magnitude of the acceleration request, and a step-down shift, in which the target transmission ratio is lowered stepwise according to the target engine rotation speed, is executed at an acceleration start time, and the target engine rotation speed after executing the step-down shift is retained for a predetermined period.
Continuously variable transmission for vehicle
A continuously variable transmission for a vehicle includes: a variator including; a primary pulley, a secondary pulley, and an endless annular member wound around the primary pulley and the secondary pulley, the secondary pulley being provided with an urging member configured to generate an urging force in a direction in which a groove width of the secondary pulley is decreased, and a transmission gear ratio of the variator being brought to a high side of a lowest transmission gear ratio by a centrifugal hydraulic operation of an oil stored in a pulley pressure receiving chamber of the primary pulley when a vehicle speed becomes equal to or greater than a predetermined vehicle speed when the vehicle is towed.

Vehicle control apparatus
A vehicle control apparatus for a vehicle provided with an engine, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) coupled to an output shaft of the engine, a motor coupled to a wheel, and an output clutch that transmits power from an output shaft of the CVT and the motor to the wheel includes a controller that is able to switch and execute either of an EV mode that allows, upon disengagement of the output clutch, power outputted from the motor to drive the wheel, and an HEV mode that allows, upon engagement of the output clutch, power outputted from the engine and the motor to drive the wheel, and that, in an adjustment of a gear ratio of the CVT during the EV mode, engages the output clutch and adjusts the gear ratio of the CVT, and thereafter disengages the output clutch before the gear ratio reaches a target gear ratio.

METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING ENGINE COMPRESSION BRAKING IN A VEHICLE WITH A CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
Methods and systems are provided for operating a continuously variable transmission (CVT) of a driveline of a vehicle during a request for engine compression braking. In one example, a method may include, responsive to an engine compression braking request, operating a CVT via a controller to adjust engine speed according to an engine speed-to-vehicle speed profile selected based on a power-based target engine speed for the engine compression braking request. The power-based target engine speed may vary continuously with driver demanded power and a battery charge power limit of the vehicle.

Vehicle control device
A vehicle control device is for a vehicle having a drive source, and an automatic transmission connected to the drive source, the automatic transmission having an engagement element for disconnecting/connecting transmission of a driving force and a variator placed further upstream than the engagement element. The vehicle control device includes first and second control units. The first control unit is configured to execute sailing stop control to stop the drive source and to put the automatic transmission into a neutral state when a sailing stop condition is established. The second control unit is configured to start the drive source and to implement downshifting of the variator when a size of a deceleration level is a prescribed value or greater when the sailing stop control is cancelled due to a prescribed sailing stop cancellation condition among sailing stop cancellation conditions being established, and to engage the engagement element after the downshifting.
