Method of using a seal to seal a space between structures
A method of using a seal to seal a space between a first structure and a second structure that is movable relative to the first structure, the method includes engaging both the first structure and the second structure with the seal so as to seal the space with the second structure in a first position relative to the first structure, and disengaging the second structure from at least a portion of the seal with the second structure in a second position relative to the first structure so that at least a portion of the space is unsealed, where the second structure swipes across the seal moving between the first position and the second position.
Method for assembling an elastomer seal spring in a connector assembly
The seal spring of the present invention has a dual functionality. The seal spring provides both a sealing property and spring function in use within an electrical connector system, which is accomplished by its elastomeric qualities. The seal spring is preferably comprised of Silicone, EPDM rubber or materials and compositions that provide similar performance during use, or the like. The seal spring of the present invention is not limited or defined into a spring section or a seal section by its geometry. Shown is an implementation of the seal spring within an outer housing and connector assembly. The seal spring compresses and provides adequate spring force against a tab or tabs within the outer housing. The seal spring also functions as an interface seal and an environmental seal during use. The seal spring is, substantially, in its entirety, of a contiguous and continuous single construction. No part or section of the seal spring is made up of welded, soldered, or brazen part or section.
Ball joint seal
The pipe ball joint includes a casing having a socket portion with a substantially spherical interior surface and a first pipe segment extending from the socket portion. The socket portion has an annular groove disposed adjacent the partially spherical interior surface. A ball pipe section includes a ball segment received in the socket portion of the casing and a second pipe segment extending from the ball segment. A seal assembly is received in the annular groove of the casing and is disposed against the ball segment of the ball pipe section. The seal assembly includes a plurality of nested seal rings that each include a concave face and a convex face.
Seal and a tubular heat exchanger using such seal
A seal including a first portion having a first width that extends in a radial direction of the seal, a second portion that is joined with the first portion and having a second width that is smaller than the first width, and a first recess that is located in the first portion to reduce a width expansion of the first portion when the seal is compressed in an axial direction of the seal.
SELECTIVELY DENSIFIED MEMBRANE SEALANT AND PROCESS FOR MAKING SAME
A selectively densified composite sealant includes a porous layer having a first major surface and an opposing second major surface. The porous layer is formed of a porous membrane and having alternating first densified portions and second undensified portions that form respective valleys and peaks in the porous layer. An elastomeric layer is disposed on the first major planar surface of the porous layer and is formed of an elastomeric material that fills the valleys between the undensified portions.
ELASTOMER SEAL SPRING
The seal spring of the present invention has a dual functionality. The seal spring provides both a sealing property and spring function in use within an electrical connector system, which is accomplished by its elastomeric qualities, The seal spring is preferably comprised of Silicone, EPDM rubber or materials and compositions that provide similar performance during use, or the like. The seal spring of the present invention is not limited or defined into a spring section or a seal section by its geometry. Shown is an implementation of the seal spring within a conductive female housing and connector assembly. The seal spring compresses and provides adequate spring force against a disk ferrule assembly, pressing the disk ferrule assembly, with a wire shield, against a conductive female outer housing, providing a grounding scheme for the connector assembly. The seal spring also seals against the female outer housing and a wire.
Method of Manufacturing a Two Component Sealing Gasket for Plastic Pipe
A pipe sealing gasket is shown which is designed to be received within a raceway provided within the female, belled end of a section of plastic pipe which is assembled with a mating male pipe end to form a plastic pipe joint. The gasket is a two-component gasket having a softer, elastomeric portion and a harder, plastic ring portion. A splicing technique is used to form the softer, elastomeric portion with the harder, plastic portion being injection molded over the previously formed elastomeric portion.

The seal spring also seals against the female outer housing and a wire.
Expansion joint seal system providing fire retardancy
The present disclosure relates generally to systems for providing a durable water-resistant and fire-resistant foam-based seal in the joint between adjacent panels. A fire-resistant and water-resistant expansion joint seal is provided which includes one or more foam members and a plurality of intumescent members interspersed within the foam member or members to provide a spring recovery force and fire resistance.
SEAL RING FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINES
An annular ring for sealing a flow includes an inner ring and a tab. The tab extends radially and is configured to restrict axial movement of the seal.
