A gasket manufacturing method, which enables an improvement in sealing performance by making the thickness of a gasket formed on a bead on a base member more uniform. The manufacturing method of a separator-integrated gasket includes dispensing a gasket material, and curing the gasket material dispensed on the bead. The bead includes portions having different widths in a short direction thereof. Compared to a moving speed of a dispensing apparatus relative to the separator body in a narrow portion where the width is small, the moving speed is slower in a wide portion having a larger width than the narrow portion.

The two segments have, at the joining region, intermeshing engagement elements joined to each other, and one or both of the segments has/have, at the joining region a positioning hole and a through-opening which are arranged behind the engagement element from the point of view of the respective other segment.

The seal element is affixed to the plate element at the seal groove. A seal plate includes a plate element having one or more seal grooves receptive of a seal element, the plate element formed from a first material. A seal element is installed into the seal groove, the seal element formed from a second material different from the first material by one or more additive manufacturing processes, the second material an elastomeric material of a selected durometer.

Flexible seal assembly

Flexible seal assemblies having a relatively low torsional rigidity and high longitudinal flexure to thereby allow the flexible seal assembly to flex between adjacent components and maintain a seal, even when movement between adjacent components occurs, is described. In some embodiments, the flexible seal assembly includes one or more layers of metal matrix material, the metal matrix material being comprised of a plurality of short segments of thin wire arranged randomly and sintered together to form a semi-rigid sheet. The one or more layers of metal matrix material can be sandwiched between an upper casing and a lower casing of a metal alloy casing. In various embodiments, additional features are provided for helping to make sure the seal assembly stays together, such as spot welds formed through the seal assembly, an S-shaped casing, and a recess/protrusion feature provided on adjacent layers of metal matrix material.

The frame-shaped attachment plate is fastened to the support body. The side wall part extends along the peripheral direction of the attachment plate. The flange part is arranged along the peripheral direction of the side wall part to define insertion space between the flange part and the attachment plate. The gasket body is formed of a rubber-like elastic material by extrusion to have a fixed sectional shape along its entire length, and engages the attachment plate along its entire length without bonded. The gasket body includes a first seal part, a second seal part, and an insertion protrusion. The first seal part contacts the attachment plate. The second seal part is arranged opposite to the first seal part to contact a supported body. The insertion protrusion is inserted into the insertion space.

Seal of a vacuum valve and production method therefor

A vacuum valve including a valve seat having a valve opening defining an opening axis and a first seal surface circumferential around the valve opening and having a closure element having a second seal surface corresponding to the first seal surface. The first seal surface and/or the second seal surface has an at least two-component material composite having a metallic carrier component and a polymer-based seal material. The metallic carrier component defines an inner and outer carrier region and has a plurality of defined depressions extending in the inner carrier region by the seal surface. The seal material is applied to the carrier component such that a defined profile of the seal material is provided on the outer carrier region and a part of the seal material extends at least into a part of the depressions of the carrier component and fills them at least halfway.
