The invention relates to a pressure maintaining gas cylinder valve. It consists of a pressure retaining device: The axis of the pressure retaining device and that of the valve element are in the same vertical plane; the pressure retaining device has a mounting base, a spring and a valve are located in the mounting base: the valve is in the valve element near the air outlet; the front section of the valve is near the air outlet, while the rear section of the valve is in the mounting base; the spring is between the valve and the mounting base. Because the invention has no eccentricity, the gas channel is smoother and the volume of the cylinder valve is greatly reduced. The mounting seat of the pressure retaining device not only provides support for the valve and spring, but also ensures that the stroke of the valve element is not interfered.

A gas shut-off valve assembly designed to automatically close gas flow in a gas conduit in response to a seismic vibration comprises a door which may be parallel to a port in the conduit and a weight above the door. In some embodiments, the door may be mostly out of the conduit passageway and out of the gas flow allowing for improved gas flow efficiency in the normally open state. Upon sensing a seismic vibration, the weight falls from a platform onto the door causing the door to move into the conduit passageway sealing the passageway. In some embodiments, a port in the passageway is perpendicular to the door's default position in the open state. When the door closes the passageway, the door rotates ninety degrees about an axis into the second closed position to become parallel with the port.

In one embodiment, the propane tank valve includes a plug with a tapered portion, the plug moveable between closed and open positions relative to a valve passageway. Upon the plug being in the closed position, the tapered portion of the plug is positioned within the valve passageway. Upon the plug being initially moved from the closed position to the open position, the tapered portion of the plug is sized and configured to initially minimize the gas flow from the valve passageway and through a flow limiting device configured to be coupled to the propane tank valve such that movement of the tapered portion from the closed plug position initially forms a gap between a tapered surface of the tapered portion and an internal surface of the valve passageway.

Valve system with position indicator

A valve system having a valve position indicator is disclosed. The valve position indicator allows for viewing of the valve position from one or more viewing locations. In one example, the valve position indicator includes a side valve open/close indicator and a top valve open/close indicator on a valve assembly. An indicator locking mechanism securely locks the valve position indicator in alignment with a position of a control valve.
