GATE VALVE

A seal with a wedging element for adjustably compressing the seal. The seal abuts a surface, such as a gate of a gate valve, to seal against the surface with a sealing force that prevents fluid flow therebetween. The sealing force of the seal may be increasing or decreasing compression by adjusting the wedging mechanism. For example, as the seal wears away due to friction between the seal and a sliding gate, the compression may be increased in the wedging mechanism to increase the sealing force to a low threshold.

Shut-off device and gate valve with a shut-off device

The invention relates to a shut-off device for valve systems of industrial plants, in particular of chemical and petrochemical plants, with a disc (12) to shut off an opening for a fluid flow and with a seal seat (13a). The invention is characterised in that the disc (12) is arranged between the seal seat and a pressing means (26) to subject the disc (12) to a pressing force and can be pressed by the pressing means (26) against the seal seat (13a), wherein the pressing means (26) has in a housing (10) a plurality of pistons (48) and a transmission element for transmitting the pressing force to the disc (12), the transmission element being arranged between the pistons (48) and the disc (12) and extending along the disc circumference, and wherein the pistons (48) are fluidically connected by a feed line (49) for hydraulic fluid.

Slide valve for a hopper containing powdered material or material with a small grain size
09809382 · 2017-11-07 · ·

A slide valve for a powdered material or a material with a small grain size. The valve comprises a stiff frame, which defines a discharge mouth to discharge the material, and a shutter of the discharge mouth, which is activated by respective moving organs. The valve is characterized in that it comprises a height adjusting device for a sealing element. The height adjusting device is suited to compensate the loss of sealing effect between the lower face of the sealing element and an upper surface of the shutter. The loss of sealing power is due to the wear generated by the relative friction between the lower face and the surface.

Device and method for aligning a solar panel with respect to a roof-mounted installation rail prior to installation

The invention relates to a device (1) for aligning a solar panel (20) with respect to an installation rail which is attached to a base, in particular a roof, prior to installation. The invention also relates to an assembly comprising at least one solar panel (20) and at least one such device (1) which is coupled to a frame (21) of the solar panel (20). The invention furthermore relates to a method for aligning a solar panel (20), with respect to an installation rail attached to a base, in particular a roof, prior to installation by using at least one such device (1), optionally followed by the installation of the at least one solar panel (20) to the support rail.

Valve cavity isolation seat

A gate valve seat seal includes a two-piece seat arranged so that an inner seat moves within an outer piece. The inner seat is moved by a flange where as the flange moves radially inwards the inner seat is moved axially to seal the gate. As the flange moves radially outwards the inner seat is moved axially out of sealing contact with the gate.

Rotational hydraulic logic device and variable cam timing phaser utilizing such a device

A control valve for use in a cam timing phaser arrangement is disclosed comprising a cylindrical valve body, a rotational shuttle element coaxially located within a recess of the valve body, and a blocking pin. When using in a cam timing phaser arrangement having a first phasing chamber and a second phasing chamber, the control valve when non-actuated acts as a double check valve, preventing flow between chambers. Actuation of the blocking pin limits rotation of the rotational shuttle element and results in the control valve allowing flow in a single flow direction between phasing chambers. The allowed direction of flow can be controlled by controlling the timing of the deployment of the blocking pin. A cam timing phaser arrangement, internal combustion engine, and vehicle comprising such a control valve are also disclosed.
