Metastable state of dual latching valves

A dual latching microvalve is capable of a metastable state, wherein a one or more complete flow paths are open, before switching to another state that allows only an inlet or outlet valve to be open at any time on any fluid path. One valve mechanism uses a cam to alternately open and close two valves, with an external force applying pressure to move one valve arm onto a resting position on the cam, thereby opening the closed valve and provided an uninterrupted flow path through the dual latching microvalve. The metastable state provides, for example, a means to prime the pump before operation, such as pumping of insulin into a patient. When released from the metastable state, the dual latching microvalve operates in a fashion whereby opening of both valves simultaneously is prevented, thereby protecting the patient from injury.

According to an aspect of the invention, the first part (2) and the second part (3) are designed axisymmetrically. Furthermore, a pinch clamp arrangement comprising such a pinch clamp device is disclosed. Additionally pump arrangement comprising a pump and such a pinch clamp arrangement is disclosed.

WATER FILTRATION DEVICE WITH SEQUENTIAL BACKWASH AND METHOD OF ITS OPERATION

Disclosed is a water filtration device which includes various hoses for connection between different parts of the filtration device and a rotatable cam system which, during backwash cycles, is rotated so as to clamp various the hoses in predetermined sequences for thereby controlling the direction of the flow of water through the tubing system. Electrical pinch valves are use alternatively to a cam shaft.

HOUSING

A housing having a housing body (100) carries on the outside of one of the side walls (110) a bolt (500) aligned parallel to the lid guide grooves (120) and the lid (200) carries a sleeve (222) fixed to a tab (220) projecting over the upper edge of the corresponding side wall (110) of the housing body (100) and aligned coaxially with the bolt (500). The sleeve (222) engages around the bolt (500) to form an axially and rotationally movable sliding bearing.

PINCH VALVE

A pinch valve having a clamping member (300) mounted between two side walls (110) of a valve housing, the side walls extending parallel to a hose guide axis and to a plunger guide axis. Each of the side walls has a step (112) extending parallel to the hose guide axis and recessing with respect to the advancing direction of the plunger. The clamping jaws (320) of the pinch valve, upon displacement of the clamping member (300), move over the steps (112) with their outer sides, which face away from the hose guide, bearing against the side walls (110).

A pinch valve may use a spring force to close a collapsible tube at a pinch point, and may open with a cam mechanism, which may be controlled using an electric motor. The open and closed positions of the pinch valve may be stable without the use of continuing electrical energy, and electrical energy may be consumed during a change between positions. One arrangement may use multiple tubes in a circular arrangement with a cam that may operate one or more of the valves at a time. The cam mechanism may be driven by an electric motor.

Multiple-Tube Pinch Valve Assembly

A multi-tubing pinch valve assembly including a receiving space defined between a pinch protrusion and tubing contact body. The multi-tubing pinch valve assembly is moveable between a retracted state and an extended state. In the extended state, multiple tubes disposed in the receiving space are pinched, restricting flow therethrough. In the retracted state, multiple tubes are capable of being loaded into and/or out of the receiving space.
