Duct Coupler for Use with Ducts in a Wet Joint of Segmental Concrete Construction
A duct coupling system has a first concrete segment, a first duct positioned in the first concrete segment so as to have an end extending outwardly therefrom, a second concrete segment, a second duct positioned in the second concrete segment so as to have an end extending outwardly therefrom in a direction toward the end of the first duct, and a tubular member slidably positioned over the ends of the first and second ducts so as to join the first and second ducts together in a liquid-tight relationship. The first concrete segment is positioned in spaced relation to the second concrete segment. A wet joint is formed in the space between the first concrete segment and the second concrete segment. The tubular member is embedded in the wet joint.

Duct coupler devices, systems, and related methods
Coupler devices, systems, and related methods for coupling ducts are provided. In some aspects, a duct coupling device includes a hollow body, at least one coupler seal disposed about an outer surface of the body, and a plurality of apertures extending through the body for facilitating the passage of a fluid and/or any other medium therethrough. A duct coupling system includes a duct coupling device with a sealing member, coupler transitions adapted to receive the duct coupling device, and a sealing member. The sealing member is configured to seal an annular space disposed between a first surface of the duct coupling device and a surface of one of the first and second ducts. A method of coupling ducts includes providing a first coupler transition on a first duct, providing a second coupler transition on a second duct, and providing a duct coupling device between the first and second coupler transitions.
Method for refurbishing pre-stressed concrete cylinder pipe and refurbished pre-stressed concrete cylinder pipe
A method for refurbishing a pre-stressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) comprises removing concrete from an existing inner surface of the PCCP at each end thereof to expose a metal core, cleaning the exposed metal core and depositing filler over the exposed metal core at each end of the PCCP to a thickness wherein the filler is substantially flush with the existing inner surface. One or more layers of carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) liner are applied to the existing inner surface of the PCCP and to the filler at each end of the PCCP. Each layer of CFRP liner conforms to the inner surface of the PCCP and the filler and remains substantially cylindrical with substantially constant diameter along a length of the PCCP with substantially unbent cylindrical ends. After curing all layer(s) of CFRP liner, each terminus of the layer(s) of CFRP liner is sealed.
