Negative Pressure Connector Seal
A sealing member for providing a seal between fluid connectors includes a tubular member defining a lumen extending between a first end and a second end. The tubular member may receive a first connector via the first end and a second connector via the second end, and includes an annular wall extending between a first annular portion adjacent the first end and a second annular portion adjacent the second end. The first annular portion may engage the first connector, and the second annular portion may engage the second connector. When a pressure within the lumen is negative, atmospheric acting inward on the annular wall compresses the sealing member to define a contact force between the second annular portion and the second connector sufficient to define a fluid seal between the sealing member and the second connector.
PIPE COUPLING FOR CONNECTING TWO PIPE ENDS OR PIPE CLAMP FOR SEALING A DEFECTIVE PIPE
Disclosed is a pipe coupling or a pipe clamp which has an outer clamp band with an outer longitudinal slot, an inner clamp band with an inner longitudinal slot and a tensioning mechanism arranged on the outer clamp band. The inner longitudinal slot is offset in relation to the outer longitudinal slot. A separate flat spanning element is provided on the inner clamp band in order to span the inner longitudinal slot. The spanning element extends from one side of the inner longitudinal slot towards the other side of said longitudinal slot.
Method of Installing a Pipe Coupling
A method of installing a coupling for joining pipe elements uses a pipe coupling having two segments with action surfaces in facing relationship. Attachment elements on each segment, in the form of lugs, accommodate adjustable fasteners which draw the segments together when tightened. Support surfaces on the lugs engage one another and react the fastener force. Stop surfaces are positioned on the lugs adjacent to the support surfaces. Engagement between the stop surfaces provides a visual indication that the coupling has been properly installed.
CONNECTING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a connecting device (100) for connecting a first and a second tube, comprising a sealing sleeve (200), a plurality of support elements (300) and at least two clamping bands (401, 402). In order to form the connection, a first of two end portions (201, 202) of the sealing sleeve (200) receives a tube end portion of the first tube and the second end portion (202) receives a tube end portion of the second tube, which are connected to each other by means of the sealing sleeve (200). The sealing sleeve (200) has an inner face (210) and an outer face (220). The plurality of support elements (300) are disposed along the outer face (220) of the sealing sleeve (200) without being connected to each other. Each support element (300) at least partly consists of or contains a deformable material. Each support element (300) has a first support element contact portion (310) and a second support element contact portion (320). The first support element contact portions (310) are disposed one following the other along a circumference of a first circle (230) along the outer face (220) of the sealing sleeve (200) and form a first support element end portion (330) having a first opening (340) for receiving the first end portion (201) of the sealing sleeve (200), and the second support element contact portions (320) are disposed one following the other along a circumference of a second circle (240) along the outer face (220) of the sealing sleeve (200) and form a second support element end portion (350) having a second opening (350) for receiving the second end portion (202) of the sealing sleeve (200). At least one first support element contact portion (310) is connected to a second support element contact portion (320) by means of at least one deformable connecting portion (380). By means of the shortening or extending of the clamping bands (401, 402), which are in the form of a first clamping band (401) and a second clamping band (402), the first clamping band (401) being associated with the first support element contact portion (310) and the second clamping band (402) being associated with the second support element contact portion (320), the first support element contact portions (310) are positioned closer to or farther from each other along the circumference of the first circle (230) along the outer face (220) of th
PIPE COUPLINGS
A method of installing a 3-piece pipe coupling to connect a first pipe element to a second pipe element includes the steps of bringing the 3-piece pipe coupling into engagement with a first connection groove located proximate a first pipe element end of the first pipe element and with a second connection groove located proximate a second pipe element end of the second pipe element, the 3-piece pipe coupling comprising three pieces; and tightening the 3-piece pipe coupling about the first and second pipe element ends with a fastener extending through a first fastener pad and through a second fastener pad formed at respective distal ends of two pieces of the three pieces comprising the 3-piece pipe coupling.
COUPLER WITH CROWN HEAD FOR COUPLING PIPES
A pipe coupler for coupling pipes of different kinds with a one or more crown partially flexible heads, integrated into the ends of the pipe coupler for accommodating grip rings and seals for coupling pipes of different kinds. The crown heads have planes at different levels that form grooves for accommodating the seals, and a backward trimmed cone-shape inner surface plane and flat plane for locking the grip rings inside corresponding recesses in the crown head. The external surface of the grip rings is also cone-shaped that corresponds the shape of the inner surface of the crown head and in friction contact with this inner surface. The grip ring blocks the seal from slipping out, and has sets of teeth for engaging with and locking to a pipe inside the coupler. Clamp bands wrap around the external surface of the crown heads that yield against it, thereby tightening the grip of the teeth in the pipe as internal pressure increases inside the pipe and causes the grip ring to axially travel towards the proximal end of the crown head. All parts of the coupler are made of synthetic materials and thereby avoid corrosive processes.
Pre-assembled pipe coupling with an insertion boundary for axial receipt of pipe ends
A pre-assembled pipe coupling includes a gasket, a housing surrounding the gasket, and a fastener. The housing has three segments sequentially coupled to each other to define an insertion boundary. A bridge segment has a first mount extending lateral from the wall and having a plurality of first lateral walls defining a first aperture and a second mount having a plurality of second lateral walls defining a second aperture. A first clamp segment has a first hook disposed in the first aperture. A second clamp segment has a second hook disposed in the second aperture. The fastener is disposed through the first fastener aperture and the second fastener aperture. The fastener has an adjusted length at which the first clamp segment grips the gasket, and the second clamp segment grips the gasket to locate the first sealing lip and the second sealing lip within the insertion boundary.
Clamping device comprising a collar and a seal
A clamping device including a collar which has a belt able to be clamped by the reduction of its diameter and a seal disposed inside the belt by being retained axially relative to the collar. The seal is formed in a strip which is wound on itself and whose ends are configured to cooperate together via a sealing arrangement. The seal undergoes a stress towards the inner surface of the belt and is configured to be elastically deformed against the stress to allow the insertion of an annular object between the seal and the belt.
