Tool and system for measurement, design communication, ordering and manufacture of fluid handling systems and parts

The invention relates generally to a system used to produce a prototype part and subsequently an accurate design specification for a fluid or gas handling system/hose and or tube assembly, followed by the subsequent communication of that specification into an ordering interface that processes the specification into a usable format as a means to accurately produce and re-create the original specification in a remote location by a specific manufacturing process, in order to supply the originator of the design an accurate, working part, produced in the specified materials in a rapid, convenient and cost effective manner. The process has global applications in various industries, markets and vehicle or machinery types, particularly where it is inconvenient or prohibitively expensive to have the work performed on-site by a technician.

There is described a pipe connector for connecting first and second pipes slidably engageable one into the other, the pipe connector comprising: a side wall extending between a first end and a second end along a longitudinal axis and defining an interior space, the side wall being adapted to be inserted into a floor hole made into a floor; a floor flange extending laterally and outwardly from the first end of the side wall, the floor flange being adapted to rest on a floor surface when the side wall is inserted into the floor hole; and a guiding assembly secured to the side wall and comprising at least one resilient retaining finger for receiving the first pipe therebetween, the at least one resilient retaining finger being securable to the first pipe when the second pipe is engaged into the first pipe.

Pipe joint

An annular sealing material seals a pipe joint between a socket and a spigot. The sealing material includes a bulb part which is composed of a first bulb, a second bulb located closer to the inner side of the socket than the first bulb, and a narrow part present between the first and second bulbs. The first bulb is pressed against the inner circumferential surface of the socket. The second bulb is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the spigot. The second bulb is inclined towards the pipe center from the first bulb in a natural state before it is provided between the socket and the spigot. The inner diameter of the second bulb is smaller than the outer diameter of the spigot in the natural state. The second bulb is extensible in the pipe diameter direction due to elastic deformation of the narrow part.
