STERILE CONNECTOR FOR THE STERILE TRANSFER OF A LIQUID MEDIUM
20220260189 · 2022-08-18 · ·

The invention relates to a sterile connector for the sterile transfer of a liquid medium, in particular a biological medium, from a liquid container (2) into a fluid chamber (3, 3), wherein the sterile connector (1) has a first coupling device (5) and a second coupling device (6). It is proposed that the first coupling device (5) has a fluid inlet (7) and a fluid outlet (8) and also a first cannula (9), the latter having an end which is directed away from the fluid inlet (7) and forms the fluid outlet (8), that the second coupling device (6) has a fluid passage (10) which, in an initial state of the sterile connector (1), is covered axially by a first septum (11), that the fluid outlet (8), in the initial state of the sterile connector (1), is arranged in a hermetically sealed region of the first coupling device (5) and the surface (11a) of the first septum (11) facing axially away from the fluid passage (10) is arranged in a hermetically sealed region of the second coupling device (6), and that, in a fluidic connection process starting from the initial state of the sterile connector (1), a fluidic connection between the fluid inlet (7) and the fluid passage (10) can be produced by the fact that the end of the first cannula (9) forming the fluid outlet (8) pierces the first septum (11) of the second coupling device (6).

Diaphragm pressure pod for medical fluids

A tubular medical fluid flow set comprises a pressure sensing chamber connected in flow-through relation to fluid flow tubing of the set. The pressure sensing chamber defines a movable, flexible, impermeable diaphragm dividing the chamber into two separate compartments. The fluid flow tubing communicates with one of the compartments and is isolated from the other of the compartments. A port is carried on the chamber, the port having a seal therein, and communicating with the other of the compartments. Thus, the other of the compartments is hermetically sealed until the port is opened for connection with a pressure measuring device, to keep the flexible diaphragm in a desired, initial position prior to opening of the seal.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR STERILE CONNECTIONS OR CONDUITS

Apparatus and methods for establishing sterile or disinfected/decontaminated connections or conduits between separate fluid path sub-assemblies. Each section of the fluid path to be connected include one or multiple heatable or heating surfaces, and a sterile volume or chamber defined by at least one of the heatable or heating surfaces. Prior to establishing a sterile access or connection between separate sections of a fluid path, the heatable or heating surfaces are sterilized or disinfected/decontaminated by means of heat. Such means may include ohmic resistive heating, inductive heating, and/or self-heating through an exothermic reaction. All surfaces establishing the connection or conduit are therefore sterile or disinfected/decontaminated, and a sterile connection or conduit is established.

Functionalized Unitary Molded Manifolds For Closed Fluid Handling Systems

A connector system having for joining tubes having an overmolded or bonded connector or manifold incorporating specialized features. The overmolded or bonded connector includes a tubular body, an input portion, at least one output portion, an internal fluid passageway, and at least one specialized feature such as a valve or sensor integrally molded or embedded therein. The connection system may be pre-sterilized, disposable and made for single-time usage in a closed fluid handling system.

Coupling device

A coupling device (100) for transferring a fluid is provided. The coupling device comprises a first housing (110), a tube portion (140) projecting into the first housing, and a second housing (200) displaceably arranged within the first housing. The coupling device further comprises a third housing (300) releasably connectable to the second housing and displaceably arranged within the first housing when connected to the second housing. In a first position of the second housing, the first and second channels constitute a passage which is sealed by the first and second sealing elements when the second housing and the third housing are connected. In a second position, the tube portion projects through the first and second sealing elements and into the sealed passage for enabling a transfer of fluid through the coupling device.

A hydraulic connecting part for connecting to a hydraulic counterpart to form a hydraulic flow path between the hydraulic connecting part and the counterpart, including: a hydraulic connecting duct having a connection opening which faces the counterpart during the connection; a closure for the connection opening to keep a hydraulic liquid in the hydraulic connecting duct at a minimum pressure; and a fastening arrangement to fasten the connecting part to the counterpart.

Hydraulic bicycle component

A protective cap is provided for protecting an end portion of a hydraulic hose of a hydraulic bicycle component. The protective cap is configured to be removably coupled to the end portion of the hydraulic hose. The protective cap comprises a head portion and a cord attachment portion. The cord attachment portion has a through hole for attaching a cord to the protective cap.

Hydraulic bicycle component

A hydraulic bicycle component includes a first section and a first seal rupturing structure. The first section defines a first fluid path. The first seal rupturing structure is disposed in the vicinity of the first fluid path. The first seal rupturing structure is configured to physically rupture a first seal of a first hydraulic hose when the hydraulic bicycle component is coupled to the first hydraulic hose.
