PIPE SECTION JOINING MEMBER, PIPE JOINT AND ELONGATED PIPE
20170254463 · 2017-09-07 ·

A fiber reinforced polymer composite joining member for joining sections of pipe together to form an elongated pipe is disclosed. A pipe joint and elongated pipe includes at least two pipe sections having ends that are joined together with the joining member is also disclosed. The pipe joint and elongated pipe are formed by joining abutting ends of adjacent pipe sections with the joining member without the need for the adjacent pipe sections to have other connection means, such as standard bell and spigot end connections. Also provided is a method for joining pipe sections with the joining member to make an elongated pipe.

Pipe fitting with inner and outer seals

A pipe fitting configured to be coupled to a pipe. The pipe fitting includes a body that is elongate along a central axis that extends in a longitudinal direction. The body includes a shell, a stiffener, and a shell-stiffener. The shell includes a shell inner surface that defines a shell through hole that extends through the shell in the longitudinal direction. The stiffener is positioned within the shell through hole, and the stiffener includes a stiffener outer surface that faces the shell inner surface such that the stiffener outer surface and the shell inner surface cooperate to define a pocket configured to receive the pipe. A shell-stiffener seal member is positioned about the stiffener such that a seal member inner surface is substantially flush against the stiffener outer surface and a seal member outer surface abuts against the shell inner surface.

COMPOSITE FLUID TRANSFER CONDUIT

A composite fluid transfer conduit is provided. The conduit includes a first end portion, a second end portion and a main body portion between the first and second end portions. At least one of the first and second end portions is an end portion comprising a circumferential groove in a radially outer surface of the fluid transfer conduit, an axial end face, and a transition surface between the axial end face and the circumferential groove. The transition surface is configured such that, for any angle of impact of the end portion with a planar impact surface, a resultant impact force on the end portion is directed away from the circumferential groove.

Connected part seal structure, and seal member

In a connected-part seal structure configured to couple a first connected part and a second connected part through a seal member, the taper angles of first and second inner pressure-contact tapered parts provided in the seal member are smaller than the taper angles of first and second inner tapered parts provided in the first and second connected parts. Thus, a pressure-contact force of first and second inside tapered pressure-contact allowances are larger as the inside tapered pressure-contact allowances are located closer to base end parts of first and second annular protrusions.

Pipe joint gasket and method of using same

A method for inhibiting separation of joined pipes including providing within a pipe bell a gasket including rigid segments, each segment having bell teeth configured for engaging the bell and a spigot tooth configured for engaging a pipe spigot seated in the bell. Upon pressurization and over-pressurization of the joint, resulting axial forces exerted on the joint, which can cause pipes to separate, are countered by wedging the segments between the bell and the spigot and rotating each segment so that the thrust forces are directed radially. To prevent radially-directed thrust forces from damaging the joint through over-rotation of the segments, the bell teeth and the spigot tooth are adapted and arranged to maintain the thrust forces load path carried by each segment within a desired angular range relative to the spigot by transferring the load path between adjacent bell teeth whereby the effective length of each segment is increased.
