The present disclosure relates to a device for lubricating an internal combustion engine having a crankshaft, which is connected to at least one connecting rod. The device has at least one first flow limiter, in particular a restrictor, for reducing a lubricating fluid flow of a lubricating fluid stream passed to the at least one first flow limiter. The device has a plurality of crankshaft bearings for the rotatable support of the crankshaft, wherein the plurality of crankshaft bearings is provided in fluid communication downstream of the at least one first flow limiter. The device has at least one big end bearing for the rotatable support of the at least one connecting rod, wherein the at least one big end bearing is provided in fluid communication downstream of at least one crankshaft bearing of the plurality of crankshaft bearings.
LUBRICATION APPARATUS
A lubrication apparatus for a component is provided. The lubrication apparatus includes a base positioned on a support. The lubrication apparatus further includes a chamber disposed on a first portion of the base. The chamber includes a lubrication section and a first storage section coupled to the lubrication section. The lubrication apparatus further includes a first sensor unit disposed on a second portion of the base. The lubrication apparatus further includes a fluid actuation mechanism coupled to the first sensor unit. The fluid actuation mechanism includes an actuation member disposed in the first storage section.

Restrictors using the Venturi effect
Restrictors are disclosed that include a body defining a Venturi tube having a throat defining a junction of a converging inlet cone to a diverging outlet cone along a longitudinal axis thereof, and with the converging inlet cone and the diverging outlet cone each defining an inner passageway that transitions as a hyperbolic or parabolic function toward the throat.
Engine valve lifter
An engine roller lifter for use in a valve train of an internal combustion engine according to one example of the present disclosure includes a body and a groove formed in the body. The body has an outer peripheral surface configured for sliding movement in a bore provided in the engine. The bore is supplied by an oil passage communicating therewith. The body defines an axial pocket that receives a plunger therein. The groove is inset from the outer peripheral surface and formed about only a portion of a circumference of the body. The groove defines a first end and a second end. Only a portion of the first and second ends overlap with the oil passage to regulate the amount of oil supplied to the groove from the oil passage.
VENT SUB FOR LUBRICATOR
An apparatus, system, and method according to which one or more sensors are adapted to detect a presence or absence of fluid entering, or before entering, a lubricator, within the lubricator, exiting, or after exiting, the lubricator, or any combination thereof, while fluid flow is received into the lubricator, the lubricator being operably coupled to a wellhead used in oil and gas operations. Based on the one or more sensors detecting the presence or absence of fluid, additional fluid flow into the lubricator is impeded.
Combined oil filter and restrictor assembly
A combined oil filter and restrictor assembly is disclosed having an oil flow restrictor interposed between first and second filters so that, irrespective of the direction of oil flow through the restrictor, debris cannot enter a small diameter bore 32 in a body of the restrictor thereby reducing the likelihood of restrictor blockage. The combined oil filter and restrictor assembly includes a metal threaded member that enables the combined oil filter and restrictor assembly to be easily and quickly assembled to or removed from a component such as a cylinder head of a variable displacement engine. The combined oil filter and restrictor assembly can be used to provide a restricted flow of oil from oil supply passages to signal oil passages used for controlling the operation of deactivatable hydraulic lash adjusters so as to purge the signal oil passages when the deactivatable hydraulic lash adjusters are not deactivated.
DEVICE FOR LUBRICATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The present disclosure relates to a device for lubricating an internal combustion engine having a crankshaft, which is connected to at least one connecting rod. The device has at least one first flow limiter, in particular a restrictor, for reducing a lubricating fluid flow of a lubricating fluid stream passed to the at least one first flow limiter. The device has a plurality of crankshaft bearings for the rotatable support of the crankshaft, wherein the plurality of crankshaft bearings is provided in fluid communication downstream of the at least one first flow limiter. The device has at least one big end bearing for the rotatable support of the at least one connecting rod, wherein the at least one big end bearing is provided in fluid communication downstream of at least one crankshaft bearing of the plurality of crankshaft bearings.
ENGINE VALVE LIFTER
An engine roller lifter for use in a valve train of an internal combustion engine according to one example of the present disclosure includes a body and a groove formed in the body. The body has an outer peripheral surface configured for sliding movement in a bore provided in the engine. The bore is supplied by an oil passage communicating therewith. The body defines an axial pocket that receives a plunger therein. The groove is inset from the outer peripheral surface and formed about only a portion of a circumference of the body.
