The interior portion can include a reinforced concrete layer and a steel liner. The exterior portion can be disposed adjacent to the interior portion, the exterior portion including prestressed wire. A method of assembling a liquified air storage system can include assembling an interior portion of a container assembly. The interior portion can have a reinforced concrete layer and a steel liner. Next, an exterior portion of the container assembly can be assembled on the interior portion. The exterior portion can include a composite material and prestressed wires. The exterior portion can be covered with an insulation layer.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR STORAGE OF LIQUID HYDROGEN AT LOW PRESSURE
A cryogenic liquid storage system is provided that includes a primary container, an insulation portion, a secondary container, and a pressure release feature. The primary container includes a metal sidewall and a metal dome. Alternatively, the primary container may be constructed out of composite material. The primary container may be configured to retain liquid hydrogen. The insulation portion covers the primary container. The secondary container includes a composite material that covers each of the primary container and the insulation portion. The pressure release feature is disposed through each of the primary container dome, the insulation portion, and the secondary container dome.
STORAGE TANK FOR LIQUID HYDROGEN
A storage tank for liquid hydrogen comprises first and second shells each constructed of laminate material, the second shell being disposed outwardly of the first shell with respect to the centre of the storage tank. The first and second shells are mechanically connected by a first plurality of pins each of which passes through at least some layers of the second shell and at least some layers of the first shell. The storage tank may be constructed using a simpler manufacturing process involving less tooling and fewer process steps than is the case for known tanks for storing liquid hydrogen. The storage tank has also has a lower mass and reduced thermal losses compared to tanks of the prior art. The plurality of pins allows for the shells to be thinner, and hence lighter, than similar shells in tanks of the prior art.
Ring-wing floating platform
A ring-wing floating platform is disclosed. The ring-wing floating platform includes a floating hull, a top of the floating hull being above a sea surface and its geometry at a water plane is centrally symmetric, a ring-wing surrounding a perimeter of a bottom of the floating hull with a horizontal projection of concentric annular geometries, a positioning system located at the bottom of the floating hull, and a topsides located above the floating hull and connected to the floating hull by deck legs or installed directly on the top of the floating hull. The axes of the ring-wing and the floating hull are collinear, and their bottoms are in a same horizontal plane. The ring-wing and the floating hull are connected together as a unitary structure by multiple connecting components with an annular gap in-between.
VACUUM INSULATED CRYOGENIC STORAGE VESSEL
A cryogenic vessel includes an outer vessel at least partially formed from a reinforced concrete. The cryogenic vessel further includes an inner vessel disposed in the outer vessel. The cryogenic vessel further includes an airtight liner disposed between the inner vessel and the outer vessel, wherein the liner is anchored to the outer vessel. The cryogenic vessel further includes a vacuum space disposed between the inner vessel and the liner, wherein an insulation material is disposed in the vacuum space.
HEAT-INSULATING CONTAINER PROVIDED WITH VACUUM HEAT-INSULATING MATERIAL, VACUUM HEAT-INSULATING MATERIAL, AND TANKER PROVIDED WITH HEAT-INSULATING CONTAINER
A heat-insulating container being used under an environment where exposure to water of liquid is possible, includes a container main body having a substance holding portion which holds a substance at a temperature which is lower than a normal temperature on the inside of the substance holding portion; and a heat-insulating structure body which is provided in the container main body and includes at least a vacuum heat-insulating material. In addition, the vacuum heat-insulating material includes an outer cover material and an inner member sealed in a tightly closed and decompressed state on an inside of the outer cover material. In addition, the inner member is configured of a material which does not generate hydrogen in a case of coming into contact with the moisture of the liquid.
METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING CYLINDRICAL TANK
A method for constructing a double-shell-structured cylindrical tank having an inner tank and an outer tank includes: a step of, inside the outer tank, assembling a first structure of the inner tank excluding a lowermost level of the inner tank by alternately and repeatedly performing raising of an inner tank lateral plate using a jack-up unit and attaching of a next inner tank lateral plate below the raised inner tank lateral plate; a step of assembling a second structure serving as the lowermost level of the inner tank on an annular portion provided on a base portion of the outer tank and configured to support the inner tank; and a step of assembling the inner tank by joining the first structure and the second structure.
Sealed and thermally insulating tank comprising an angle bracket
Sealed and thermally insulating tank incorporated into a polyhedral bearing structure, a first bearing wall and a second bearing wall forming an edge corner, the tank having a first tank wall, a thermally insulating barrier and a sealed membrane, the tank further has an angle bracket with a first flange and a second flange in such a way that the angle bracket connects in a sealed manner. The sealed membrane of the first tank wall and the sealed membrane of the second tank wall in line with the edge corner, in which the angle bracket has a pair of first tabs and a pair of second tabs, the tank has a pair of first anchor rods coupled to a respective first tab and a pair of second anchor rods coupled to a respective second tab in such a way as to transmit a tensile load between the angle bracket.
