In a device and a method for guiding a hydrogen fueled vehicle based on a hydrogen pressure of a fuel tank of the hydrogen charging station, information on a hydrogen charging station including the hydrogen pressure of the fuel tank of the hydrogen charging station is received from a server, and a charging station determined to be suitable for charging the hydrogen fueled vehicle is selected in consideration of an importance of each item obtained from a user of the hydrogen fueled vehicle based on items including at least one of a price of hydrogen charging, a charging standby time, a charging taking time, whether the hydrogen fueled vehicle is able to be fully charged, and a distance to the hydrogen charging station determined based on the information on the hydrogen charging station.

Cryogenic liquid tank

A hydrogen storage tank for a hydrogen fueled aircraft. The tank has a wall made of layers of aerogel sections around a hard shell layer, sealed within a flexible outer layer, and having the air removed to form a vacuum. The periphery of each layer section abuts other sections of that layer, but only overlies the periphery of the sections of other layers at individual points. The wall is characterized by a thermal conductivity that is lower near its gravitational top than its gravitational bottom. The tank has two exit passageways, one being direct, and the other passing through a vapor shield that extends through the wall between two layers of aerogel. A control system controls the relative flow through the two passages to regulate the boil-off rate of the tank.

Method and system for delivering a gaseous fuel into the air intake system of an internal combustion engine

A method and system delivers a cryogenically stored fuel in a gaseous state into the air intake system of a gaseous fuelled internal combustion engine. The method involves measuring the pressure in the vapor space of the cryogenic storage vessel, comparing the measured pressure to a required fuel supply pressure and supplying fuel in gaseous state directly from the vapor space of the cryogenic storage vessel to the fuel delivery line that supplies fuel to the engine, when the pressure measured in the vapor space of the cryogenic storage vessel is equal to or higher than the required fuel supply pressure. The method further involves activating a cryogenic pump to deliver fuel to the internal combustion engine from the liquid space of the cryogenic storage vessel when the measured pressure in the vapor space is lower than the required fuel supply pressure.

Tank temperature probe with positional sensor

A sensor device, system, and method for monitoring the internal pressure and temperature of a refrigerant tank during a recovery operation to control a purge operation of the tank based on the conditions thereof during the recovery operation. The sensor device, system, and method further utilize an external temperature sensor, the external temperature sensor operable to indicate that it is properly positioned on the surface of the tank.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ASSISTING THE MANAGEMENT OF A LIQUEFIED GAS TRANSPORT SHIP OF THE TYPE CONSUMING EVAPORATED GAS FOR ITS PROPULSION

A method for assisting the management of a vessel comprising at least one tank configured to contain liquefied gas and a vapor phase treatment system capable of sending boil-off gas exiting the tank to a propulsion engine of the vessel or to a gas combustion unit on board the vessel and capable of extracting a portion of the liquid phase contained in the tank and of evaporating this portion in order to send it to the propulsion engine. The method comprises: generating at least one tank management scenario defining an evolution of the pressure of the gas phase contained in the tank along a path of the vessel; computing a cost function that at least depends on a total amount of boil-off gas generated in the tank along the path; and displaying to a user the tank management scenario as a function of the computed cost function.

HIGH-PRESSURE CONTAINER INSPECTION METHOD AND HIGH-PRESSURE CONTAINER INSPECTION APPARATUS

A high-pressure container inspection method includes a photographing step, an acquiring step, and a determining step. In the photographing step, a carbon fiber is photographed while an outer surface of the carbon fiber wound on a converging portion in an outer peripheral surface of a liner is irradiated with light. In the acquiring step, density information obtained by the reflection of the light with respect to the outer surface of the carbon fiber by the photographing is acquired. In the determining step, the density information obtained by the acquiring step is compared with preset density information to determine whether a shape of a reinforcing layer of the converging portion is good or bad.

Method and system for the real-time calculation of the amount of energy transported in a non-refrigerated, pressurised, liquefied natural gas tank

Some embodiments of the presently disclosed subject matter relate to a method and system for the real-time calculation of the amount of residual chemical energy in a non-refrigerated, pressurised tank containing liquefied natural gas, without a composition of the liquefied natural gas having to be determined.

COMPOSITE STORAGE TANK SYSTEM FOR GASEOUS HYDROGEN
20220099252 · 2022-03-31 · ·

A composite storage tank system for gaseous hydrogen comprises a composite storage tank having composite wall enclosing a gas storage volume, the composite wall including a metal hydride element, or a metal element capable of forming a metal hydride in the presence of hydrogen, the system further comprising measuring apparatus arranged to measure an electrical characteristic of the metal hydride element or the metal element. The history of leakage of gaseous hydrogen from the tank, the current rate of leakage and the physical condition of the composite wall in the vicinity of the metal or metal hydride element may be inferred from a measurement of the electrical characteristic, without taking the tank out of service as is required in the case of known leaks tests such as a vacuum test, helium leak test or hydrogen sniffing test.
