The invention relates to a safety torch. The torch comprises a housing; a light source arranged in a head of the housing, wherein an end of the housing opposite the head forms a handle in which at least one battery system is arranged; and an at least partly translucent light source cover for at least partly covering the light source. The cover is adjustable between a retracted position in which said cover is at least partly retracted in the head of the housing, to emit in use a beam of light, and a protruding position in which the cover is protruding from the housing, at least protruding further from said housing than in said retracted position. The cover is adjustable between said positions by means of an adjusting mechanism comprising two substantially parallel guides arranged in the longitudinal direction of the housing, for adjusting the cover along the guides.

Duv control of luminaire beam color

A luminaire includes a white light LED light source emitting a light beam that that is filtered by first and second color filters. An optical device modifies the filtered light beam. A control system receives a commanded value for the optical device and responds by causing the optical device to move based on the commanded value; determining a Duv change in the light beam caused by the optical device; determining positions for the color filters based on the Duv change, a current correlated color temperature (CCT) isotherm value, and a current Duv value; and moving the color filters to their determined positions. The control system may alternatively receive a command with a Duv value and respond by determining color filters positions based on the received Duv value and a current CCT isotherm value; and moving the color filters to their determined positions.

Combined-type dynamic effect wheel and stage light provided with same

A combined-type dynamic effect wheel includes a light source and an effect wheel bottom plate. The effect wheel bottom plate is provided with a light-through hole and several pattern bases, each pattern base being provided with a pattern sheet. A first rotating assembly and a second rotating assembly are provided at the center of the effect wheel bottom plate, and the effect wheel bottom plate is driven by the first rotating assembly to rotate so as to enable different pattern bases or the light-through hole to be switched in or out of a light beam; the pattern base is provided with a driven assembly; and the size of an effective pattern on the pattern sheet is greater than the size of an effective light spot of the light beam passing through the pattern sheet.

Head-mounted LED light with integrated, adjustable iris

A head-mountable light includes a user-adjustable spot size. Light from an LED travels through beam-forming optical elements supported at the front opening of a housing to form a spot of light at a working distance. An adjustable iris, situated between the LED and the beam forming optical elements, enables a user to adjust the iris and vary the size of the aperture and the spot size of the light at the working distance. The manually operated iris size control may comprise a rotatable ring on the exterior of the housing, and the plurality of beam-forming optical elements may comprise a singlet lens followed by a doublet lens. The light from the LED strikes the beam-dispersing element directly without an intervening condensing optical element (i.e., condensing lens). The assembly further includes a mechanical connector adapted to couple the housing to a pair of eyeglass frames, headband or other head-worn structure.

Lighting device with protective light management

A light management device comprising a protective light cap or cover is disclosed that provides for the blockage or allowance of designated wavelengths from being inadvertently being viewed by persons or being projected onto an external surface. The protective light cap or cover is pivotable connected to a lighting source to allow the cap to be positioned over the light source and moved away from the light source. The protective light cap is retained in an open position that allows the light source to be viewed, by one of a magnetic catch or a physical catch.
