Modular lighting device

The present invention relates to lighting fixtures which are mounted into architectural finished surfaces such as ceilings, walls and floors, and is applicable to new installations as well as the renovation of existing surface-mounted fixtures. One embodiment relates to a modular lighting device for retro-fitting to an existing lamp housing which is flush mounted or countersunk into an opening of a ceiling or interior surface of a building, the modular lighting device comprising a lamp-fitting configured for receiving a light source and configured for attachment to the existing lamp housing, and reflector for reflecting and/or modifying light from the light source, the reflector comprising a narrow top section configured for attachment to said lamp-fitting, and a wider bottom section for covering said opening.

APPARATUS, METHOD, AND SYSTEM FOR A MULTI-PART VISORING AND OPTIC SYSTEM FOR ENHANCED BEAM CONTROL

Precision lighting design is a subcategory of lighting design which benefits from a concerted, synergistic effort to improve beam control; sports lighting is one such example. Beam control is improved when all light directing and redirecting devices are considered together, and insomuch that adverse lighting effects are best avoided when considering how all the lighting fixtures in an array interact with one another. To that end, envisioned is a multi-part visoring (i.e., light redirecting) and optic (i.e., light directing) system designed with consideration towards how a fixture lives in a mounted space—how its photometric and physical presence affects other fixtures in or proximate said space—while demonstrating improved beam control over that which is available to general purpose (e.g., indoor residential) lighting.

In grade light fixture and subassemblies thereof

The present disclosure is directed to in grade light fixtures and recessed luminaires and subassemblies thereof, including, for example, a heat sink (10) and pivot (16) for a recessed luminaire (2), a gasket (100) for the recessed luminaire (2), and an outer box (70) and cover (4) for installation of the recessed luminaire (2). The recessed luminaire (2) comprises: a housing (6) having an internal surface (18); and a light subassembly (8) engaged with a thermally conductive body (10), the light subassembly (8) having a first end (53) and a second end (54), wherein the first end (53) of the light subassembly (8) is pivotally secured to a pivot (16) arranged on, in, or proximate to the internal surface (18) of the housing (6). The thermally conductive body (10) is in thermal contact with the internal surface (18) of the housing (5). The recessed luminaire (2) further comprises a dehumidifier (90).

A natural lighting device is capable of controlling an angle of diffusion of sunlight reflected to a shaded area to form reflected light whose size and shape are suitable for a window of a household. The natural lighting device is installed in the vicinity of a building having a shaded area formed thereon to radiate sunlight toward a household located in the shaded area and includes a primary reflector configured to reflect sunlight incident thereon; and a secondary reflector configured to reflect the reflected light, which is reflected from the primary reflector, incident thereon, wherein the secondary reflector includes a secondary reflecting mirror having a curvature about an axis in a direction that intersects with the ground or an axis in a direction that is horizontal to the ground so that the reflected sunlight is not diffused in a horizontal direction or naturally diffused in a vertical direction.
