A lighting fixture with a pole and a lighting source. The pole can be hollow and can have a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The lighting source can be mounted to the first end of the pole. The lighting source can have a housing and a driver mount. The housing can have a base wall with a hole, and the driver mount can have a hole covered by a removable door. The driver mount can be arranged within the housing with the removable door accessible through the hole in the base wall. At least one of a camera, a photocell sensor, or a motion sensor can be attached to the removable door.

Streetlight retrofit to provide access for wireless and cellular networks

A system for upgrading and retrofitting existing streetlights. The system enables conventional streetlights using sodium vapor, and other conventional lighting technologies, to be upgraded to more energy efficient and long-lasting LED lighting. At the same time, cellular and wireless communications can be added to the streetlight to provide additional bandwidth over that provided by conventional cell towers. The system can offload bandwidth in otherwise overloaded areas, such as densely populated urban areas. The system can include mini- or micro-cellular routers, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth®, and other micro cellular and wireless technologies. The system can include a light fixture styled to look like existing conventional light fixtures and can be retrofitted to existing streetlight poles and mounts with little, or no, modification to the pole and wiring.

LIGHT FIXTURE WITH AIRFLOW PASSAGE SEPARATING DRIVER AND EMITTER
20170370571 · 2017-12-28 ·

An illustrative light fixture provides an emitter housing and a driver housing in a single fixture with an airflow channel defined between the emitter and driver housings. The airflow channel minimizes thermal conduction between the emitter and driver housings, and maximizes thermal convective cooling for at least one of the emitter housing and driver housing. The emitter housing includes vertical fins extending into the airflow chamber. The left and right sides of the emitter and driver housings define top and bottom edges that are respectively coplanar with the top and bottom edges of the vertical fins.

An in-grade light fixture is provided with a corrugated housing design. The corrugated housing design enhances structural integrity and the flow of air within the light fixture to facilitate cooling. The light fixture includes an annular door with slots aligned with the corrugations to facilitate the influx of cool air into the housing and the exhaust of hot air from the housing. The light fixture includes a hot-aiming system that allows a tilt optic to be rotated via magnetic force within the light fixture using an external instrument, such as magnetic wand. The beam direction can be rotated using this hot-aiming system without opening the light fixture.
