PORTABLE LIGHTING DEVICE WITH AN ILLUMINATED INDICIA
The invention provides a portable lighting device with an elongated main body that includes a housing with receiver, and a power source positioned within the receiver. An operational mode selector assembly with a switch assembly that is actuated by a user is operatively coupled to the power source. An illumination assembly is electrically coupled to both the operational mode selector and the power source. The illumination assembly has a primary light source with a light emitter that emits light axially along a longitudinal axis of the main body or housing through a lens. A secondary light source with a light emitter emits light substantially perpendicular to the axis to illuminate an indicia located in a side region of the illumination assembly. During operation of the portable lighting device, the components of the illumination assembly are arranged such that: (i) the primary light source does not illuminate the indicia, (ii) the secondary light source does not emit light through the lens, (iii) an appreciable amount of light emitted from the primary light source does not mix with light that is emitted from the secondary light source within the portable lighting device, and (iv) an appreciable amount of light emitted from the secondary light source does not mix with light that is emitted from the primary light source within the portable lighting device.
Solid-state illumination system for compact microscopy
Provided is a solid-state illumination system for use in a microscopy system utilizing a light sensor of a mobile phone camera module. The system includes a bright-field illumination source with an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The array of LEDs is configured to produce transmission light within a range of view of the light sensor of the mobile phone camera module. The system also includes a dark-field illumination source including a ring of LEDs. The ring of LEDs is configured to produce light outside of the range of collection of the camera module lens. The system also includes a diffuser configured to diffuse the transmission light and a diffusive black material coupled to the diffuser. The diffusive black material is configured to pass through at least some of the transmission light while blocking reflections of the scattering light.
Lamp and Assembling Method Thereof
A lamp includes at least two illumination parts and a lamp body. The lamp body has an upper portion, a lower portion corresponding to the upper portion and at least two optical cavities extended between the upper portion and the lower portion. The illumination parts are respectively arranged in the optical cavities. The lamp has a surrounding lighting state and a side lighting state. The lighting states of the lamp may be switched between the surrounding lighting state and the side lighting state through controlling the operating modes of the illumination parts in the optical cavities respectively.
SUPPORT LIGHTING FOR ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEMS
A lighting system is incorporated into the ends of the electrical power cords to provide light when working in dark environments. The lighting source is preferably battery-operated, thus allowing the user to find power receptacles when in these dark environments. Additionally, a second power source is included in the plug receptacle end, which can be battery-powered or can be powered by electrical power carried within the power lines. The ends of the extension cord include supports.
Portable lantern light with multiple operating modes
A portable lantern light is configured to be operated in a range of selectable operational modes to provide flexible illumination solutions in both stationary and portable situations. The lantern light includes an elongated central body with a plurality of external longitudinal ribs, longitudinal channels positioned between a pair of external ribs, a lighting element residing within the channel, and a lens overlying the lighting element that acts as a primary optic. A power source that includes a battery cartridge is removably inserted within a receiver of the central body. The lantern light includes an operating mode selector assembly to control which lighting elements are illuminated during operation of the portable lantern light, and a luminosity selector assembly to selectively control the lumen output (brightness) of the lighting elements. The lantern light also includes a retractable stabilization assembly that can be deployed to stabilize the light on a support surface.

Disclosed is a flashlight which may include of a first window arranged at a first end of the flashlight, a light source configured to generate light, a first reflector configured to reflect light from the light source to the first window to generate a first beam of light, and a second reflector configured to reflect stray light from the light source through one of a first aperture and a first gap in the first reflector to generate a second beam of light leaving the flashlight through a second window.

The invention relates to a safety torch. The torch comprises a housing; a light source arranged in a head of the housing, wherein an end of the housing opposite the head forms a handle in which at least one battery system is arranged; and an at least partly translucent light source cover for at least partly covering the light source. The cover is adjustable between a retracted position in which said cover is at least partly retracted in the head of the housing, to emit in use a beam of light, and a protruding position in which the cover is protruding from the housing, at least protruding further from said housing than in said retracted position. The cover is adjustable between said positions by means of an adjusting mechanism comprising two substantially parallel guides arranged in the longitudinal direction of the housing, for adjusting the cover along the guides.
Portable Linear Worklight
A portable linear worklight for converting point light into a linear light source is disclosed. The portable linear worklight comprises a worklight body and a lens. A transparent light pipe is positioned between an upper reflector and a lower reflector inside the worklight body. The lower reflector holds the light pipe and reflects light back into the light pipe. A light emitting diode in a battery housing emits light into a light receiving end of the light pipe. The received light travels trough the light pipe and is emitted from a light emitting surface of the light pipe. The upper reflector reflects some of the light emitted from the light emitting surface and directs the light toward the lens and the light exits the worklight body.

An illuminating lens for a medical headlamp, endoscope or exoscope, to generate an illuminating light bundle with variable light distribution includes a liquid lens with variable focal length to modify a focusing of the illuminating light bundle. The invention also relates to an observation device with an illuminating lens of this type as well as a method to generate an illuminating light bundle with variable light distribution.

The safety light includes a top housing; a printed circuit board assembly coupled to the top housing, the printed circuit board assembly having a top surface and a bottom surface; a plurality of light elements coupled to the bottom surface of the printed circuit board assembly, the printed circuit board assembly programmed to energize the plurality of light elements following depression of a first control button; a lens coupled to the bottom surface of the printed circuit board assembly and the plurality of light elements, the lens having a first angled reflective surface and a plurality of side surfaces; and a bottom housing coupled to the lens.
