Alternating offset U-bend support arrangement
Arrangement for supporting U-bend tube sections in the high heat environment of steam generators using flat bars. The invention uses a combination of thicker and thinner flat bars to impart a serpentine path to the arc of the normally curvilinear U-tubes. The support system accommodates the dilation and contraction of coolant tubes and other elements caused by the extreme and varying conditions inside a steam generator, and which can cause gaps between coolant tubes and prior art tube support bars. Bars of alternating thickness provide alternating offsets to tensionally push and support each tube on multiple sides and in multiple locations, and this tension keeps the tubes in contact with at least some flat bars on multiple sides regardless of size and shape changes. Support arrangement includes a set of fan bars, each fan bar including thick and thin flat bars projecting up and out from a collector bar.
GREEN ENERGY THERMAL STORAGE SYSTEM
A thermal energy storage system includes one or more containment vessel comprising an internal cavity containing a bed of phase change material (PCM) operable to store thermal energy, an array of heaters embedded in the molten phase change material, and a tube bundle. The heaters are electrically coupled to an electric power source and operable to heat and melt the PCM to a molten state. The tube bundle comprises heat exchanger tubes embedded in the molten PCM and configured to convey a working fluid (e.g., water or other) through a tube-side of the tubes. The tubes may be arranged in plural individual tube cartridge each insertable and removable from the vessel. In operation, the working fluid is heated by absorbing stored thermal energy from the molten phase change material. The PCM may be heated by power extracted from the power grid during off-peak demand periods.
Systems and methods for steam reheat in power plants
Steam generators in power plants exchange energy from a primary medium to a secondary medium for energy extraction. Steam generators include one or more primary conduits and one or more secondary conduits. The conduits do not intermix the mediums and may thus discriminate among different fluid sources and destinations. One conduit may boil feedwater while another reheats steam for use in lower and higher-pressure turbines, respectively. Valves and other selectors divert steam and/or water into the steam generator or to other turbines or the environment for load balancing and other operational characteristics. Conduits circulate around an interior perimeter of the steam generator immersed in the primary medium and may have different cross-sections, radii, and internal structures depending on contained. A water conduit may have less flow area and a tighter coil radius. A steam conduit may include a swirler and rivulet stopper to intermix water in any steam flow.

Device for converting a liquid to a vapour
A device for converting a liquid into vapor includes an enclosure, a heating surface with a downward slope arranged in the enclosure, and a liquid inlet port connected to an upper portion of the heating surface so that a liquid introduced from the liquid inlet port flows on the heating surface. The device also includes a vapor outlet port formed through a wall of the enclosure. The heating surface includes a heat transfer pipe configured to allow the flowing of a heat transfer fluid to heat the heating surface, and a corner piece including a U-shaped cross-section with a semi-circular portion arranged around the heat transfer pipe and an upper portion forming an opening on the enclosure.
METHOD FOR BUILDING A TEMPERATURE PREDICTION MODEL AND SETTING HEATING TEMPERATURE AND HEAT CYCLE SYSTEM
A method for building a temperature prediction model is applicable to a heat cycle system, wherein the method is used to measure a temperature of the heat cycle system to generate a measured temperature data, and compute a response time of the heat cycle system, and the method includes aligning the measured temperature data and a setting value of the heat cycle system to generate a training data according to the response time; and building the temperature prediction model according to a statistic model and the training data.
System And Method To Generate Steam By Mixing A Feed Water Stream With A Heating Medium
A system and method to generate steam from a feed water stream does so in a liquid pool zone of a vessel as the stream comes into contact with a heating medium that is less volatile than the feed water stream. To keep the pool hot, the heating medium can be recirculated through a heater of a pump-around loop or a heater can be placed in the liquid pool. As the feed water stream is vaporized or partially vaporized, any solids or unvaporized water present in the feed water stream come out of the stream and move into the heating medium. These solids and the unvaporized water may be further removed from the heating medium in the pool or in the pump-around loop. The heat exchange surface does not contact the feed water to generate steam.

Horizontal Steam Generator for Nuclear Power Plants and Its Assembly Method
This invention relates to steam generators, and more particularly to horizontal steam generators for nuclear power plants with a water-water energetic reactor (VVER). We claim a horizontal nuclear power plant steam generator comprising a cylindrical vessel, two elliptical bottoms, at least one feed water supply and steam removal connection pipe, an inlet header and an outlet header, a heat-exchange tube bundle connected to the same, wherein number Ntb of heat-exchange tubes in the bundle is selected depending on outer diameter dtb of the heat exchange tubes according to formulae. The technical result of the invention is an increased heat transfer efficiency in the steam generator with a limited number and maximum length of heat exchange tubes, which allows to use tubes employed in the industry.
