Transition casting for boiler with steam cooled upper furnace

Transition castings are disclosed which comprise a steam tube and a water tube, which are joined together by membranes. A heat transfer fin extends from the membrane and abuts the water tube. The steam tube bends such that an upper end is on one side of the water tube, and a lower end is on an opposite side of the water tube. The transition castings are used in a transition section of a boiler in which the furnace is divided into a lower furnace and an upper furnace. The lower furnace uses water-cooled membrane walls, while the upper furnace uses steam-cooled membrane walls that act as superheating surfaces. The transition casting joins the lower furnace and the upper furnace together.

HYBRID METAL-POLYMER HEAT EXCHANGER

A heat exchanger includes a metal tube and a composite polymer fin in thermal contact with the metal tube. The fin is formed of a polymer and a thermally conductive filler such that the fin has a thermal conductivity greater than or equal to 0.5 Watts per meter Kelvin.

Heat exchanger unit

A heat exchanger unit includes tube units arranged within a duct unit for heat exchange with combustion gas supplied from a furnace of a thermal power plant, and heat exchanger fins longitudinally formed on outer peripheral surfaces of the tube units and having different thickness and sizes while heat exchange with the combustion gas is performed through the heat exchanger fin.

An exhaust gas flow regulator and a heat recovery steam generator including the same are provided. The exhaust gas flow regulator includes a plurality of first tubes spaced apart from each other in a vertical direction, a support plate disposed in a direction perpendicular to the extension direction of the first tubes and through which the plurality of first tubes penetrates, and a second tube disposed at one or both ends of the support plate so as to be coupled to the support plate and extending parallel to the first tubes, wherein the second tube is provided with a guide plate disposed to redirect exhaust gases flowing adjacent to the second tube toward the first tube.

Baffle system and method for a heat exchanger located within a casing of a heat recovery steam generator

Disclosed is: A casing of a heat recovery steam generator has a sidewall, and heat exchanger coil located therein capable of exchanging heat from hot exhaust gas flow into the casing, with a gap between the end of the coil and a sidewall. A baffle system for closing the gap after the coil is installed in the casing comprises a mount attached to the coil near the gap, and a baffle plate associated with the mount and movably supported thereby. The configuration of the mount and baffle plate are such to allow the baffle plate to be capable of moving from a retracted position withdrawn from the sidewall, to an extended position closing the gap. A retainer can hold the plate in the retracted position. The retainer can release, for example, by being temperature sensitive. The mount can have a support that engages the coil.

Steam generation

A heat exchanger assembly, comprising: heat exchanger pipework which comprises a plurality of elongate tube elements which extend in spaced relation and a plurality of pipe end couplings which fluidly connect open ends of respective tube elements, wherein the pipe end couplings each comprise a main body part to which the open ends of the respective tube elements are fixed, and an enclosure part which is fixed to the main body part and provides a closed fluid connection between the open ends of the respective tube elements; and a plurality of fins which extend in spaced relation and optionally substantially orthogonally to the tube elements, wherein the fins each comprise a sheet element, optionally a single, continuous sheet element, which includes a plurality of apertures through which extend respective ones of the tube elements, and a plurality of fin coupling elements which are located within respective ones of the fin apertures to interface the tube elements to the sheet elements.

WASTE HEAT BOILER

The present provides a waste heat boiler and a hammering device, a heating tube mounting structure thereof. The waste heat boiler which a boiler, heating tubes provided in the boiler and a hammering device; the boiler is provided with an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet; the heating tubes are in a horizontal grid tube arrangement; a surface of the heating tubes is provided with fins, and the heating tubes are connected to support assemblies in an unfixed way.

Combined heat and power system

A CHP system includes a combustor (heat source), a Rankine cycle apparatus, and a second heat exchanger. The Rankine cycle apparatus includes, as an evaporator, a first heat exchanger that absorbs thermal energy produced in the combustor. The second heat exchanger is located closer to the combustor than is the evaporator, absorbs thermal energy produced in the combustor, and transfers the thermal energy to a heat medium.

The vortex tube when properly used within a Rankine cycle can produce phenomenal results. This invention functionally describes the preferred vortex tube used to produce superheated vapor from a compressed heated liquid without summoning the additional heat required for latent-heat to effect vaporization. The vortex tube provides superheated vapor to a turbine for generating electricity burning 50% less fossil fuel, also releasing 50% less carbon emissions to the environment. The vortex tube extends the efficient Rankine Cycle temperature range well below 150 F. with the proper refrigerant choice. The physical size and function of the hearing equipment is reduced. The invention delivers new thermal efficiencies for both the Rankine Cycle and the Organic Rankine Cycle.
