Water heater and boiler processes

A pre-startup control method for a boiler or water heater includes: providing a controller operatively coupled to a boiler or water heater unit; performing a unit shutdown operation; enabling a pre-start up mode; at about a same time or in any order, moving an air fuel valve by a controller to a non-off position with a gas supply to the water heater or boiler turned off, wherein the controller turns on a blower at an operational level, and causes an ignitor to spark; and displaying parameters which allow an affirmation of a safe and reliable ignition prior to a gas turn on of the boiler or water heater unit. A flow balancing method and a programmed auto run method are also described.

Provided is an abnormality detection device, including: a data acquisition unit configured to acquire operation data of one or a plurality of extraction devices configured to extract water from a water circulation system in a boiler to an outside of the circulation system, and acquire an actually measured value of a makeup water amount supplied to the circulation system; a prediction unit configured to derive a predicted value of the makeup water amount based on the operation data acquired by the data acquisition unit; and a comparison unit configured to compare the actually measured value of the makeup water amount, which is acquired by the data acquisition unit, and the predicted value of the makeup water amount, which is derived by the prediction unit, with each other.

TURBINE POWER GENERATION SYSTEM HAVING EMERGENCY OPERATION MEANS, AND EMERGENCY OPERATION METHOD THEREFOR

Discloses is a turbine power generation system having an emergency operation means and an emergency operation method therefor that are capable of controlling excess heat accumulated during emergency operation, and recycling the accumulated heat. A turbine power generation system includes: an inlet sensor part including a thermometer, a pressure gauge, and a flowmeter that are installed between the heater and the inlet valve and; an emergency discharge part including a branch pipe connected to the steam, and a heat control means installed on the branch pipe. Accordingly, the system and the method are capable of reducing a heat overload during an emergency operation by transferring a heat amount exchanged in the heat storage device to the heat consuming facility, minimizing thermal consumption by recycling the same, and preventing various problems caused by stopping an operation of the turbine power generation system.

Steam/hot water device monitoring

Systems and methods for testing steam traps or other similar devices in a hot water or steam system are described. A tester includes a wand that is handheld that can communicate with a handheld electronic device which in turn can communicate with a central monitor for storing and compiling readings as historical profile data. The wand includes a probe to physically contact the device to acoustically sense the performance of the device. The probe includes a probe tip and a stack of acoustic elements, an electrode, a stack mass, and a head to covert the acoustic signal into an electrical signal. The handheld device includes circuitry to process the information, interact with the user, and transmit information to and from the handheld electronic device and/or the central monitor.

A steam using facility in which a generated condensate amount changes in association with a change in an environmental state value, based on a correlation between the environmental state value and the generated condensate amount. An environmental state value when the generated condensate amount becomes a set alarm amount is set as an alarm state value. An alarm is issued when an actual environmental state value by a measuring instrument changes in an increasing direction of the generated condensate amount to reach the set alarm state value.
