Closed-Loop Control of a Combustion Apparatus
Various embodiments include a combustion apparatus comprising: a facility for open- and/or closed-loop control of the apparatus; a combustion chamber; an actuator adjusting an air supply; and a combustion sensor in a region of a flame of the chamber. The controller stores a list of support points. A first air supply value is assigned to each support point. A drift test value and an index for ascertainment of a test result are assigned to each support point. The controller: generates a specified air supply; selects a support point as a function of the air supply; and decides on a test result using the index for the support point. To ascertain a test result: receives a signal from the combustion sensor; determines a new test result; ascertains a changed drift test value for the selected support point; and stores the changed drift test value as the drift test value.
Burner system control
A controller for managing communication of a burner system. The controller may comprise a communication module to manage the exchange of messages between devices of the burner system. The controller may also incorporate a processing module to compose the messages that are exchanged between the devices, identify issues regarding the messages, determine that devices may not be operating properly, and lock-out the devices in response. The controller may also incorporate a timing module having a set of timing requirements and being configured to lock-out devices in response to violation of a timing requirement.
Double swirl burner
A double swirl burner including an annular air nozzle, an annular fuel nozzle coaxially disposed within the annular air nozzle, and a central air nozzle coaxially disposed within the annular fuel nozzle. An annular air nozzle may include at least one first inlet port on a peripheral wall of the annular air nozzle, where the first inlet port may be configured to allow for tangentially injecting a first air stream into the annular air nozzle. A first air stream may be tangent to a circular cross-section of the exemplary annular air nozzle, and a first axial inlet that may be configured to allow for axially injecting a second air stream into the annular air nozzle along a centerline of the annular air nozzle.
Control and/or Regulation of a Combustion Apparatus
A facility for control of a combustion apparatus comprising: a memory storing a limit value and a correction factor; a communication connection to a sensor and an actuator; and a processor. The processor: receives an input signal from the sensor; uses the signal to form a measured value specifying a fuel air ratio, an air ratio, and/or an oxygen content; and loads the limit value and compares the measured value with the limit value. If the measured value is less than or greater than the limit value, the processor either loads the correction factor and determines a correction value as a function of the limit value, the correction factor, and the measured value, or loads the stored correction value from the memory, and then creates an output signal as a function of the correction value and sends the output signal to the actuator.
Electronic Gas/Air Burner Modulating Control
An electronic control system for a power burner system for use with a heating appliance includes a burner tube, a gas valve for providing gas to the burner tube, an electronic control and a variable speed combustion air blower for mixing air with the gas provided to the burner tube. The electronic control system further includes a control in communication with the gas valve and the combustion air blower. The control may also be in communication with various other devices of an appliance, such as a variable speed air-circulating fan, a variable speed exhaust fan, or various sensors associated with the heating appliance. The control modulates the gas valve and the combustion air blower to maintain substantially stoichiometric conditions of the gas and air provided to the burner tube and as a function of signals from at least one of the devices. In one embodiment, the burner system may be used in a conveyor oven.
Flame detecting system
A flame detecting system capable of easily performing a deterioration diagnosis of a flame sensor without being provided with a shutter mechanism. The flame detecting system comprising a flame sensor to detect light, a calculating device, and a reference light source, in which the calculating device, by operations of a central processing unit CPU, is configured to execute a first mode at which the discharge probability in the flame sensor is measured when the reference light source is turned off and a second mode at which the discharge probability in the flame sensor is measured when the reference light source is turned on, and calculate a current discharge probability of the flame sensor from data obtained at the first mode and the second mode.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANALYZING COMBUSTION SYSTEM OPERATION
Systems and methods analyze combustion system operation by predicting an operating parameter based on a portion of measured process data. The predicted operating parameter is associated with a prediction confidence region that is based on hardware uncertainty and historical uncertainty. The historical uncertainty defines drift of the variables used to predict the operating parameter as compared to historical distribution of the values of the variables. The combustion system operation may also be analyzed by comparing a predicted operating parameter against a measured operating parameter, and using the comparison to match to an anomaly solutions database.
Method for regulating a heating device and heating device
Methods for regulating a heating device, which includes a combustion chamber, into which combustion air is introduced via a controllable blower. An operating variable and a speed of the blower are measured. An operating coefficient is determined on the basis of the measured operating variable and the measured speed. A volume flow coefficient is determined on the basis of reference values for the operating coefficient. A volume flow of the combustion air being determined on the basis of the volume flow coefficient. A calibration of the reference values is carried out for the operating coefficient.
METHOD AND ASSEMBLY FOR CONTROLLING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE HAVING MULTIPLE BURNERS
A method and an assembly for controlling an internal combustion engine having multiple burners is provided. Combustion measurement data is collected in a burner-specific manner for each burner and assigned to a burner identification identifying the respective burner. Performance measurement data of the internal combustion engine is also collected and used to determine a performance value. A machine learning model is trained by means of the combustion measurement data, the associated burner identifications and the performance measurement data, to generate burner-specific control data which optimizes the performance value when the burners are actuated in a burner-specific manner using the control data. The control data generated by the trained machine learning model is output for the burner-specific actuation of the burners.
